RELATIVE CLAUSES
(WHO - THAT)

Definition.-

We use relative clauses to describe or give EXTRA INFORMATION about


something we have already mentioned.

We often use relative pronouns (e.g. who, where, that, which, whose) but
we are going to study just WHO and THAT in this level.

We use relative pronouns to introduce relative clauses. It means, to know


more about people and things:

Lord Thompson, who is 76, has just retired.

Marie Curie is the woman that discovered radium.

We use:

- Who for people


- That for animals, plants or things.
