COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on how writing research paper or thesis is done, and the applicable statistical tools, understanding the different parts of the thesis, their interplay, and the governing rules in writing a technical paper, the development of a research problem, the instrument, the data gathering methods, and the treatment of the data collected.

1. The value and importance of research
2. Foundation of Criminological Research (terms, parts of thesis, different types of research methods, etc.) 3. Guide in writing research paper following the APA Rules 6th or 7th edition 4. Developing a problem, collect and gather primary data, secondary sources, journal articles and other sources. 5. How to write your thesis introduction, framework, statement of the problem, significance and limitation, definition of terms, related literature and studies, reseach design, instrument or data gathering tools, sampling and population, instrument floating and data collection and the statistical tools needed.
