Yes, I do because this helps all children have ability to swim, and this saves children’s lives, and our country
will have a healthy future generation .
2. What are the positive negative effects of swimming?
- Sometimes swimmers may have accidents and may lose their lives.
- Moreover, for girls, if they swim so much, their shoulder becomes very big and look ugly/bad.

Part 1. Social interaction (3’) Let’s talk about hometown.
1. What’s (the name of) your hometown?
It is Quy Nhon city. I love it very much because it is the place where I was born and grew up. The
people in my hometown are very friendly, helpful and honest.
2. Is that a big city or a small town?
It is a small city, but it has a lot of beautiful tourist attractions like Queen Beach, Ky Co, Eo Gio and so
on.

and so on. The people in my hometown are very friendly, helpful and honest. The food is also good.

1. What kind of housing/ accommodation do you live in?
I live in a small house. There are five rooms: a living room, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a toilet and
bathroom. It is very clean and tidy.

I live with my parents and my sister.
3. Do you plan to live there for a long time?
Yes, I do because I can take care of my parents when they are old. I love them very much.
Part 2 SOLUTION DISCUSSION
If my friend is going to the U.S.A for a year and I want to buy her a going-away present, among the
three items suggested: a camera, an English dictionary and a scarf, I think the best option is a scarf
because of the following reasons.
First of all, it is cheap, cheaper than a camera, so it’s suitable for students like me.
A scarf just costs me from 50,000 to 100,000 VND while a camera may cost me up to 2 or 3 million
VND.
And an English dictionary is not necessary for her because she can use her cell phone to look up all the
new words easily and conveniently.
Second, she will need it in the USA where the weather is very cold in winter. It can keep her neck warm
and she will be fine there. Whenever she wears it, she will miss me.
In the other words, my best option is buying a scarf for her.
Part 3 TOPIC DEVELOPMENT
I think that computers have made life easier and more convenient because of the following reasons.
First of all, computers can store a large amount of data. We can save so many documents in a computer
and find them very fast.
Secondly, computers provide a great means of communication. We can chat or exchange the
information on Facebook, Zalo or Emails freely.
Thirdly, computers can provide online shopping. We don’t need to go to the shop, and we just search
what we want to buy on the internet, order them and then they will be delivered to our house. It is very
convenient.
In conclusion, I agree that computers have made life easier and more convenient.

Yes, I do. Some people often chat or exchange the information on Facebook, Zalo or Emails so much.
Whenever they like or are free, they go to facebook and stay there for hours.

Yes, I do. Because teachers and students can find almost everything on the internet, so they can teach
and learn better.

I read every day for my study and for my daily life.

I think No, because they prefer to see films when they feel more comfortable.

Yes, I do. I often read newspaper every day to update with the life.

I prefer to read local news because it is nearer to me and more useful for me. However, I still like reading
international news.
3. Which is more popular where you live, newspapers or magazines?
I think newspapers are more popular when they are cheaper and more interesting. Magazines are often
expensive but most of them are in fashion.
Part 2. Solution discussion (4’) Situation:
If I received three million Vietnam dongs as a bonus payment, and I want to use that money to treat
myself, among three ways suggested: buy nice clothes, have a luxurious meal or spend on vacations, I
would prefer to take a vacation to Da lat because of the following reasons.
-First of all, I have dreamt to once arrive in Da lat to enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful flowers as well as
wonderful landscapes like Than Tho Lake, Xuan Huong Lake or Love Valley.
And I think buying nice clothes or having a luxurious meal is not necessary for me, and spending 3
millions for clothes and a meal is not suitable for a poor student like me.
-Moreover, I want to widen my knowledge by travelling to a new land like Dalat. I can know about the
people, the food and everything there.
In other words, travelling has many benefits, including for each of us and society.

I prefer to travel in summer most because at that time the weather is very convenient for my travelling.

I would like to visit Korea and America because I want to explore new things there.

I often spend 2 or 3 hours every day on the internet because I find information for my study and relax with youtube
or facebook.

I usually read news, find the information and chat with my friends and relatives on the internet. Sometimes I watch
films online or listen to music.
3. What benefits can people get from using the Internet?
They can find almost everything on the internet very fast, so it saves them time and money. For example, they can
sell and buy on line, teach and learn online and so on.
Part 2 SOLUTION DISCUSSION
If a group of friends are going to celebrate the end of exams, among the three locations suggested: a pool, a party
club, and a bowling station, I think the best choice would be a party club because of the following reasons.
- First of all, it has comfortable space for them to organize fun activities. They can play there for a long time or
until late in the evening.
+ But, at a pool, they cannot. They can only swim and quickly get tired. If some members can’t swim, it is very
boring.
+ A bowling station is the same. There is no enough space for them .
- Second, it is cheaper in a party club. It just costs each of them 100,000 VND, while if they go to a bowling station,
they must pay more than that. They are students, so they should save money for their study.
In other words, the best option for them is a party club.
Part 3 TOPIC DEVELOPMENT
I think that learning foreign languages is essential for every global citizen because of the following reasons.
- First of all, it offers us many job opportunities. Nowadays, most big companies interview their applicants in
English, so if we are good at English, we can find a good job with high salary easily.
- Moreover, learning foreign languages makes us self-confident. When we study English, we practice speaking
English with our friends or our teacher or in front of the crowd, and then we become more and more confident
to communicate with people.
- Thirdly, it helps us have an easy communication. When we are confident, not shy, we easily make friends with
strangers, and we can go anywhere in the world we like.
In conclusion, learning foreign languages is essential for every global citizen.
