Travel itinerary: -
Day 01: Delhi to Haridwar
(by Road 220 kms/ 5.5 hrs drive approx)
Arrive at Delhi airport. Upon arrival meet and assist by our representative and drive to
Haridwar. Upon arrival check into hotel. The remaining day is free to explore the city on your
own. Later take a visit to Bharat Mata Mandir, Bhuma Niktan, Pawan Dham, Doodhadari
Temple and other temples. Evening witness Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri. Return back to
hotel. Overnight hotel in Haridwar.
Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva’s hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh,
is a doorway. Suryavanshi princeBhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had
perished due to the curse of sage Kapila. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth forms Lord
Shiva’s locks and its bountiful water revived the sixty thousand sons of king Sagara. In the traditional of
Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for salvation of their departed elder. It is
doorway to the sources of the Gangaand the Yamuna, 3000 to 4500 meters up into the snowy ranges of the
central Himalayas. The ‘Aarti’ worship of the Ganga after sunset and the floating ‘dia’ (lamp) is a moving
ritual.

Day 02: Haridwar to Barkot


(220 Kms / 7 to 8 hrs drive approx)
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Barkot, enroute visiting Kempty Fall. Continue
your drive to Barkot (1352 mts). Upon arrival check into hotel. Barkot is a place of great scenic
beauty with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains all around. A magnificent view of the
eternal snow peaks of Bandar punch can be seen from here. Overnight hotel in Barkot.

Day 03: Barkot to Yamunotri to Barkot


(36 Kms drive & 6 Kms trek – one way) – Altitude 3235 mts
Early morning drive to Jankichatti or Phoolchatti. From here one cantrek to Yamunotri (6 Kms)
or can hire mule or Doli at your own cost.Arrive at Yamunotri.
Destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again, the temple was built by Mararani Gularia of
Jaipur during 19th Century. A devotee can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water
of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to
Divya Shila – a rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple,
After taking bath in Jamunabai Kund’s warn water and having “Holy Darshan” of “Yamunaji”
return back to Jankichatti and drive to Barkot for night stay.

Day 04: Barkot to Uttarkashi


(130 Kms / 5 hrs drive approx) – Altitude 1352 mts Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive
to Uttarkashi . Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
A home to a number of ashrams and temples and also to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering.
Upon arrival check into hotel. Later take a visit to Vishwanath temple – one of the oldest and sacred Shiva
temples in
Northern India, reconstructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural
style, Shakti Temple – dedicated togoddess Parvati, just opposite to Vishwanath temple. The main attraction isa
huge and heavy trident, 6 meters in height and a circumference of 90 cms.At bottom and other places of
interest. Remaining day free at leisure. Overnight hotel in Uttarkashi.
Uttarkashi – The name of the town reflects its similarity to and location (asnorth of) the city of Kashi
(Varanasi). Similar to Varanasi, town of Uttarkashi is situated on the Ganges, lies next to a hill named
Varun Parvat, on confluence of two rivers Varuna and Asi, has a ghat called Manikarnika Ghat and has a
temple dedicated to Shiva (Kashi VishwanathTemple) in the center of the town.
A massive iron trident, symbolic of divine mother’s, is erected and worshiped from time immemorial at the
temple complex. Ganeshji, Sakshi Gopal, Markandeya Rishi’s small shrines are also part of the temple
complex. Akhand Jyoti as well as AkhandAbhishek, special aarti at morning and evening are offered. As per
Skunda Puran, Uttarkashi is known as “Saumya Varanasi”, the abode of Lord Shiva in Kaliyug and counted as
one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.

Day 05: Uttarkashi to Gangotri to Uttarkashi


(100 Kms/ 3 to 4 hrs drive – one way) – Altitude 3048 mts
Early morning drive to Gangotri. Enroute take a holi dip at Garam Kund at Gangnani and drive
to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley
– famous for its nature beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains.
Arrive Gangotri – the origin of river Ganges. You can take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges
which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and take holy Darshan at Gangorti
Temple – dedicated to goddess Ganga, situated on the right bank of river Bhagirathi, was
th
constructed by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18 Century. After darshan you
can explore lovely surroundings and spend some time there. You cansee Submerged Shivling –
submerged in the river, this natural rock Shivling is the place where, according to mythology
Lord Shiva sat when he received the Ganga in his matted lock. It is visible in winter months
when water level decreases. Kedar Ganga Sangam: Around
100 Yards from the Ganga Temple flows the river Kedar Ganga.Starting from the Kedar Valley,
this river meets the Bhagirathi on itsleft bank. Return back to Uttarkashi. Overnight hotel in
Uttarkashi.

Day 06: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi


(220 Kms / 8 to 9 hrs drive approx) – Altitude 1319 mts
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive straight to Guptkashi – means “Hidden
Benares. Mythology describes how when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of
Shiva, via
Moolgarh & Lambgoan. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara.
The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river and arrive Guptakashi.
Upon arrival check into hotel. Evening you can take a visit to Ardh Narishwar Temple. Overnight
hotel in Guptakashi.

Day 07: Guptkashi – Sonprayag - Gaurikund - Kedarnath (18 km trek one way)
Breakfast at Camp/ hotel. After breakfast drive to Sonparyag Via Guptkashi on reaching trek start Kedarnath
via
Gorikund, Bheembali, Garuechati,on Arrival Pooja and Darshan, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
However few other alternate routes has been developing on the parallel to original trek , at present
construction work is in progress locally.
We suggest all pilgrims to carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes for an
overnight halt at Kedarnath. Upon arrival check in hotel. Later Holy Darshan at Kedarnath Temple – one of
the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range.
Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Kedarnath: According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war,
felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He
eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he
dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The r! emaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at
four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face
at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the
four above- mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

Please be informed that generally, Darshan slip is mandatory for devotees who do same day return trip
to Kedarnath by helicopter. For devotees staying overnight generally it is not required.

Day 08: Kedarnath – Gaurikund to Rudraprayag


Early morning holy Darshan at Kedarnath Temple and start trek down to Gaurikund. Upon
arrival meet with the driver and leave for Rudraprayag. Upon reaching check into hotel.
Remaining day free at leisure. Overnight hotel.

Day 09: Rudraprayag to Badrinath


(160 Kms / 7 hrs drive approx) – Altitude 3133 Kms
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Badrinath – one of the ‘Four Dhams’ is one of the
most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country, via Joshimath. Upon arrival check in hotel.
Evening you can visit Badri Vishal Temple to attend evening Aarti. Overnight hotel in Badrinath.
Badrinath one of the ‘Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at
an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan
with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with
wild berries. Thus the place got the name “Badri van”, meaning “forest of berries”.
Narad Kund : A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was
recovered. Sheshnetra : 1.5kms. away is a boulder having an impression of the legendary serpent, better
known as the Sheshnag’s eye.
Mata Murty Temple : Devoted to the mother of Sri Badrinathji. Other important temples include Sesh
Netra
Temple, Urvashi Temple and Charanpaduka.
Vasundhara : As the name suggests, vasundhara is a magnificent waterfall.This place is 5 kms. From Badrinath
out of which 2 kms. Is motorable upto Mana.
Bhim Pul : On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the
roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage
under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava
brothers.

Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag


(160 Kms/ 7 hrs drive approx)
Early morning after having a bath at Taptkund – a natural thermal springs on the bank of the
river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple,
Darshan of Badrivishal ji. One can do the Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus) at
Brahamakapal – a flat platform where Hindus Pilgrims perform proppitiating rites for their
deceased ancestors. There are other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana village – last Indian
village before Tibet; inhabited by an Indo Mongolian tribe, Vyas Gufa – a rock-cave where Ved
Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.
Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka – a beautiful meadow where the footprint of Lord Vishnu is seen
on a boulder. , Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of
Badrinathjee. Later drive back to Rudraprayag. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight hotel in
Rudraprayag.
Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the
four ‘Maths’ established by Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimathis the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought
down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people toworship. There are many other temples in the
township. The most important is the temple of Nir Singh with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity
is getting destroyed with time and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers Badrinath
valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring Niti Valley at Bhavishya
Badri
Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag
district, Uttarakhand, India. The ancient temple is dedicated to god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of
god Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue and is thusa popular Hindu
pilgrimage sites. A special feature of this temple is aperpetual fire, that burns in front of the temple. The flame
is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage. Thus, the temple is also knownas Akhand Dhuni
temple

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Rishikesh


150 Kms/ 5 hrs drive approx)
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Rishikesh – situated at thefoothills of the Himalayas
and it is where the Ganges comes down to the plains from the hills. A breathtaking experience of
natural beauty and undiscovered wildlife awaits here. Not to mention the peace and
tranquility of a landscape associated with sages and meditation. Upon arrival check into
hotel. Evening aarti at Parmarth Ashram. Overnight hotel in Rishikesh.
Rishikesh – a very important Hindu pilgrimage site. There are cluster of a number of Ashrams and temples
giving the entire place a spiritual feeling.The ceaseless flow of the river, regarded as Goddess Ganga adds to
the
beauty and the purity of the place. Along the river, the area is filled with thick green forests in the all-
mountainous region. The entire area falls on the Garhwal region of Northern India. Hordes of sadhus (sages) come
to this place every year in search of salvation. Rishikesh is famous for its yoga sessions that are taught
here by many yoga experts.Thereare wonderful scenery and the numerous pilgrimage sites. Rishikesh also
makes some of the most popular adventure sport destinations of India.

Day 12: Rishikesh to Delhi - D e p a r t u r e


252 Kms/ 6 hrs drive approx.)
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive back to Delhi. Upon reaching transfer to the choice.

Important Note: -
1) If there is any unprecedented hike in the cost of transport (including fuel surcharge)
or Accommodation it will also affect the cost. The guest must bear the proportionate tour cost in
case of extended stay or travelling due to any reason. We shall not be responsible for any change
in the itinerary due to landslides, flight Cancellations, weather conditions or any
unforeseen circumstances.
2) The infrastructure of these areas is not very well developed now and you should not expect
or compare it with the other developed destinations there is always shortage of water and
power in this region and so you would come across situation like water supplied on time basis –
morning to evening.
3) In this region all the hotels don’t have any Generator facility. If the power failure hotel
will provide candle light.

Precautions during Yatra/Trekking


1) Cover your head with Monkey cap or any other woolen clothes while on high altitude to Avoid
hill- sickness, giddiness etc.
2) Keep on drinking water/liquid to avoid hill-Diarrhoea
3) While on high altitude, eat only what is cooked over there.
4) While on trekking, trek in one motion (Slow step), avoid any competition, Try to maintain the
trekking motion till last; this will keep maintained your stamina.
5) Put sweet candies in the mouth, use ORS (oral Re- hydration salt) in water while
trekking. 6) Trek only on hill-side, avoid trekking or standing on valley side, as ponies
(horses) coming From opposite direction may push you down to the valley which may
cause serious problem
7) Boiled water can be obtained from local Chatti (Tea-Shop) on free of charges during on trekking.
8) While hiring Ponies / Dolis / local laborer, some tips or tea/meals can be offered, if you are
satisfied with their services as an special gesture or incentive to them.
9) While carrying your luggage through the porters tie it properly as to avoid any loss of luggage.
