1. Conduct a job satisfaction survey in your department/company. Choose at least 10

respondents. Summarize and discuss the result using the format below. Prepare your

report: (survey instrument will be provided).

b. Conclusion

Based on the survey result, the following conclusions are made:

1. 73% of the participants responded that they are satisfied on the company they are

working for, 18% of the participants responded that they are less dissatisfied and

9% of the participants responded that they are dissatisfied.

2. For the over-all rating related to company management, the general weighted

mean is 3.6 which means the respondents “AGREE” with how the company

managed the important external and internal issues and how the company lead the

changes.

3. For the over-all rating related to relationship between leaders and co-workers, the

general weighted mean is 3.26 which means the respondents “FAIRLY AGREE”

with how the leader’scares about the employee and how the co-workers

communicate and deal with their co-workers.

4. Most respondent’s difficulties are insufficient knowledge with their field of work

and the high job load or job responsibilities they were handling.

5. Most respondent’s suggestion are to improve working environment, increase

salary and additional benefits for workers.

c. Recommendation (What techniques of motivation you can use to improve the

satisfaction of your respondents).

Based on the results, the following recommendations can be made:

1. Clarify roles and job responsibilities of each member of the team

2. Encourage informal social events within the department to enhance

communication between team members

3. Provide rest area wherein a member can take a rest peacefully during break time.

4. Provide day care facilities for children of employees so that employees can come

to work in a regular basis and lessen the high rate of absenteeism.

Case Analysis – The Comfort Zone

1. Who do you believe is right – Jim or Nell? Justify your answer.

Answer: In my own opinion after reading about Nell’s problem on productivity, I

believed with Nell than Jim. Nell knows her employee’s thought than Jim. If she

proceeds with Jim’s suggestion, it may cause of problem with the motivation of her

employees that may lead to resignation. It is just, she needs to approach on different way

of introducing on sales, it is said that she has an overdue to each subordinates. For me it

is better to approach her strategy with a little generosity such as to who ever achieved a

sales amount target for this month, he/she will be having a token and name will be posted

across the company’s recognition. With this, win-win will be provided, motivation to

employees and big sale for Nell.

2. How would you motivate the sales associates to list and sell more real estate?

Answer: Ludwig could organized some trainings or seminars that could motivate her

people. Although her associates have been through extensive sales training classes, she

should also consider trainings that could inspire them to work harder. Also, she could set

a motivation through rewards like paid vacation trip or additional leaves for those

exemplary associate. Employees perform best when they are rewarded not only with a

suitable pay check and benefits package but also with additional incentives.

Performance and profit-sharing bonuses are common (even to the point of being taken for

granted). Although employees rarely give back a check, when it comes to getting them to

really lean in, there may be a better way to go.

3. How would you motivate associates to make FSBO calls?

Answer: Motivation is considered also a vital but seminars and trainings on FSBO are

much better for them to have an ideas and strategies on how to handle an FSBO. Ludwig

may also endorse other option to her associates such as using of social media to promote

FSBO in which, owner may gain other benefits or big amount if they sell their property.

With this, owner itself will contact her employee that lead to more income with their

team.
