    Monday 5th September

    Dear Diary

    So many things have happened to me today (some good, some bad), where to begin.

    My first day at high school! I felt nervous but excited. Fearful but positive. I felt ready for 'big' school but sad
    to be leaving the safety and comfort of primary school behind me.

    I was already up by the time my alarm went off. Mum came into my room, expecting to have to rouse me but
    she seemed pleasantly surprised to find me up and find me up and on my way to the
    bathroom.

    The place was like a rabbit warren! A maze of unfamiliar corridors led to classrooms or bathrooms or
    staffrooms or goodness knows where!

    I felt nervous as I entered the room. English was never my strongest subject...
