A Note About Homework

The students completed their first packet of homework this week! I know the homework was easy for most of the students, and that is where we want to start in Kindergarten. Kindergarten is the first step into their elementary school career and we want them to have a positive experience. Homework is going to start out easy, and will always be on something we have learned in class. If you ever have a question about your childs homework please feel free to contact me. I want all of the students to feel like they can succeed in school, and that is not possible without communication between school and home.

Weekly Assignments
*Packets go home Monday and are turned in on Friday. Monday- Practice writing numbers 15 two times each. Tuesday- Sight word the worksheet. Practice your reading racers flash cards.

What we are learning:

Reading This week we will be learning all about environmental signs. We will be working on the sight words the and a. Math We are beginning our first chapter in our math series. We will be working with numbers 110.

Wednesday- Practice writing numbers 6-10 two times each. Sing the song where do you start your letters to a family member. Thursday- Draw a picture of a sign you see on the way to your house. Practice your reading racers flash cards.

Homework Tips
Help your student start off their school career with great homework habits! Have a set time and place for students to do their homework. Have needed school supplies available Have your child start reading every night to build their reading fluency.

Science with your child every night. This week we will continue to learn about the 5 senses. We will Doing so gives them a head start at learning to read. be doing fun science experiments to explore each of the 5 senses. Ask your child what they have learned!
