Last we finished up talking about familiar Nursery Rhymes and started looking at
some letters and their sounds. We also began talking about numbers and how to
make those numbers.

This week will be finishing up talking about apples and Johnny Appleseed and
talk about apples. We will also be starting some basic sight words such as see,
a, I and like. In math we will still be looking at numbers and how to make
numbers.

Welcome to Kindergarten
Other Important Information:
* Conferences are coming up on October 13
th
& 14
th
. You will be getting your
conference time early this week in your childs blue folder. If this time does not
work for you please let me know right away so I can get it switched.
* If you havent sent back your childs homework (About Me T-shirt) that was
due Friday please help them get it finished and back to school as they are
displayed in our hallway. Also this week new homework is going home. It is
due back on Friday so feel free to do just a little each night so its not
overwhelming.
* District Wide Snack was approved at the District Board Meeting. They are
hoping to get it started October 6
th
so I will be sending home a snack/show and
tell calendar tomorrow. If you havent brought snack yet you will be the rest of
this week or next week. I will cover the extra days until it gets started. Starting
October 6
th
you will not need to send snack anymore, just show and tell which
will be done right after snack time. The fee for the snack will be $25 for a
student a year or $50 for a family a year for snack. There should be a paper
coming to you either in your childs backpack or via mail with more information if
you havent gotten it already.
* Reminder: Our library day is Wednesday. Each child gets two books to take
home. Please help remind students to bring their books back on Wednesday to
get new books.
