Week 6!
This week are celebrating Fire Prevention Week. As part of that we will be talking about fire safety tips and we will be having the fire fighters come visit our school on Friday. This is a great time to establish an emergency plan for your home in case there is ever an emergency or fire. What do you do? Where do you meet? What neighbors do you trust? Ect. We will also continue talking about colors and reading their words. As well as continuing to go over letters more in depth and begin reading the words I and see. Please continue to work on writing names at home if you notice your child is having trouble with this. In math we will continue working on shapes & patterns. The tricky ones tend to be the rhombus, hexagon, and trapezoid. We will also begin using these shapes to make patterns. Feel free to practice these at home.

To Practice At Home:
*Letter names

*Letter sounds *Numbers 1-20 *Quantities 1-20 * Handwriting *Your childs first and last name
(Recognizing it, knowing the letters in it & writing it.)

Other Important Information:

* Library day is Thursday. Please remind your child to return their library books so they can check out new ones. * The fall/winter weather is starting to show up outside. Please remember to send a light jacket or sweatshirt on those days that it is chilly outside since we are outside for recess and PE everyday it is not raining. Also keep in mind that winter is right around the corner. If you havent gotten winter gear yet, remember that during the winter students need at hat, scarf, jacket, snow pants, boots, and mittens/gloves for recess. If you are going to need help getting these items please let me know and we can see what we can do here at school to help. *Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
