The Challenge

To define Petra Energy’s Corporate Responsibility and social

initiatives which promote healthy lifestyle amongst employees,
social equity in combination with support of sports and
education. As this journey unfolds Petra Energy has expanded
its community engagement to providing aid for under-
privileged children.

eYHY has had the privilege to define the current CSR journey
of social equity to foster;

 Ethical community outreach to underprivileged children

and children with special needs

 The extension of the Petra Energy’s HSSE culture

Through the Friendship Beyond Boundaries program, the

focus on children and youths will lead the way forward.

Malaysian Rare Disorders Society

Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS) was formed in 2004, with

the help and guidance of the Genetic Unit, Department of Pediatrics,
University Malaya Medical Centre. It is a voluntary organization set-
up to represent and look out for the welfare of individuals including
their families that are affected by rare disorders.
Rare disorders including those of genetic origin, are life threatening of
chronically debilitating diseases which are of such low prevalence that
special combined efforts are needed to address them.

‘not important’ enough)
Absence of cure and treatment that could improve quality of life
Low knowledge amongst health professionals & public

Negative social consequences.

MRDS Family Challenges

Coping & management of patient
Health maintenance eg specific exercise regime
Health surveillance eg: health decline
Behavioral challenges
Learning difficulties
Impact Measure
Making the case for soft skills development and raising the
bar of social welfare awareness
Petra Energy’s CSR impact measure mechanism

Friendship Beyond Boundaries is a CSR program focused on

developing soft skills and raising awareness on social equity.

eYHY is able to demonstrate the commercial value of the CSR

impact through rigorous surveys conducted pre event and post
event.
The surveys are designed to demonstrate prior knowledge and
enhanced awareness as a positive outcome of the Friendship
Beyond Boundaries program. The surveys will also demonstrate
employee satisfaction as part of the CSR engagement.
