PRAKATA OLEH PENGERUSI KEBANGSAAN

Always believe that the most noble job one can do is to save lives and keeping the
population abreast on how to save lives. Having gone through the recent global pandemic,
we realize how fragile life can be. Although there is no one sure fire formula to predict
emergency medical situations, knowing how to respond to them safely and effectively can be
critical in saving someone's life, including your own.

The Malaysian Red Crescent needs no introduction. Its mission has always been to prevent
and reduce suffering, wherever it may be. While we should always stay true to our mission,
we must also be quick to adapt to the current environment to remain relevant and efficient.

There’s no other time that calls for innovation more than today. Previous years were our time
to think outside of the box and do things that were never thought of before and to action
innovative tranformation, accorded by digitalisation.

Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) acts as an auxiliary to the Government by the Parliamentary
Act 1965. Since 1948 MRC has been the pioneer in the education of its members and the
public on Humanitarian work. Its’ trained members have been specialized voluntary members
providing emergency services and relief during the times of peace, disasters, and conflicts.

Teaching and training have changed over the years and many new concepts and practices
have been developed and adopted and so the instructors and members need to continuously
improve and upgrade their knowledge and skills in keeping with the times. It is our vision and
mission to develop life-long learners with outcome-based learning approach that is
fundamental in the modern learning process.

This upgraded Book Number 7 Manual have been developed by dedicated instructors
represented from all the states in Malaysia. I wish that this manual would be a good guide and
assist in developing a new generation of members in keeping with the needs and demands of
the 21st century.

On that note, I wish you an enjoyable training, best of luck and may God bless us all.

YTM Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul
Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
