Direction: Write a Reflection Paper for each module.

Module 1: Introduction to NSTP

The National Training Service Program main objective is to train and teach
students to acquire various principles that will be helpful in the development of their life
and the community. This program is so beneficial for it is one way for the students to
learn and train to become well-disciplined and effective. Honestly, I am really expecting
that I am going to do community service with my block mates. How I wish after this
pandemic I can volunteer to help our community, money is not a hindrance to help
people who is in need. If you want to help, there is a lot of ways to do so. In this time of
pandemic, we must help each other. We must look after at each other. The only way to
survive is not being selfish, as we should do to be a good citizen. No one is useless in this
world who lightens the burdens of another. “There is no exercise better for the heart
than reaching down and lifting people up.”

Module 2: Good Citizenship

Being a good citizen does not only mean to follow rules. We must also perform
duties and regulations. Most of them are based on a simple system of what is right and
wrong. It is a policy of our conscience. To what extent we can sacrifice our time and
ourselves in the name of social benefit. As a student, being a good citizen is studying hard
to be useful for our society to gain excellent education. Learn at school and make proper
decisions in future. Education is only the beginning of the further process of working.
While working hard, we contribute to the well-being of society. We must also stay
informed, it important for us to know what people in our country think and react. We
should watch news, to reflect the people around us. In this coming election 2022, as a
student and a citizen of our country, I must perform my duty to take part in voting. This
is a must thing to do, our voice is necessary and must be heard.
To be a good citizen, we should first be a good person. By that mean we must be
full of values, and principles. One of the most important of being a good citizen is to
help people. Helping without asking or expecting for a return. Little help for you is a big
help for them.

Moule 3: Disaster Risk Reduction

We must always be prepared even when there is no disaster. We should have an
emergency kit ready that everyone knows where to find. Disaster is inevitable safely
prepared and informed. Every step from mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery
are important to lessen the possibility of damages and calamities. Therefore, we should
practice and gain knowledge to help ourselves. Being informed, mapping out hazards in
our house will help to keep us safe and less vulnerable to hazards. Since anyone can
become a victim of a hazardous event, we must be proactive, prepared, and undergo
training. We should not hesitate to respond to emergencies, especially if we've prior
knowledge. If we want to be safe, we must help ourselves not to be stubborn when
disasters strike. Because some citizens do not listen to authority, accidents and even death
occur. The best way to avoid worst- case scenarios is to be aware of what to do and to
always be prepared for the unexpected. We may be able to help others if we help
ourselves to become knowledgeable about such events. We are citizens of our own
country; if we do not play our roles, who will? We must always remember that we are
responsible for our own well-being, so we must be the ones who initiate change.

Module 4: Environment Protection

Environment refers to the natural surroundings and conditions in which we live.
Unfortunately, this environment is under serious threat. This threat is almost entirely
related to human activity. This human activity has certainly caused serious damage to the
environment. This damage threatens the survival of life on Earth. Therefore,
environmental conservation is urgent.
As a good citizen of our country, it is our obligation and responsibility to take care
and protect our environment. Little ways to do to protect our environment is conserving
water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in
the ocean. Planting trees should be given massive attention. Above all, a tree is the
source of oxygen. Unfortunately, due to construction, many trees have been cut down.
This certainly reduces the amount of oxygen in the environment. Growing more trees
means more oxygen. Hence, growing more trees would mean better life quality. Energy
efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch off when
leaving the room. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" Reduce,
reuse, and recycle to conserve natural resources and landfill space. When you are
shopping, buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag. Let’s educate others, when
you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and
value of our natural resources. And we can volunteer for clean-ups in your community.
You can get involved in protecting your watershed, too. These little ways to protect and
cause less hassle to our environment can bring a good effect in our daily lives.
