CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Today's society relies heavily on data, which is a valuable resource because of what it
allows businesses to achieve. It's crucial to handle, manage, examine, and keep it for future use.
Forecasting is now possible thanks to improvements in computing power, machine learning,
and analysis, as well as access to past and present sales data. Having access to this data gives
you a tactical business advantage since it enables you to make more informed decisions.
A multi business sales monitoring system can help you gain a better understanding of
your customers' demands. Numerous sales tracking systems additionally come with
visualization tools, which could help you comprehend and exhibit your data more effectively.
Sales tracking is crucial because it helps you prevent further losses and encourages you into
making smart gains. By being aware of the numbers, you may make wise decisions based on
the numbers you can already see, which will make you a more effective and astute leader.
This Systems exist that let you follow each client's progress in real-time as they move
through the sales pipeline. As a result, your sales function will perform better because you have
more control over the sales process. This system will improve and provide the security and
accuracy in handling goods sold as well as monitoring the inventory items by just entering data
required.
The system helps the user to manage the sales, facilitate the sales workflow, monitor the
performance, and track the results.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE/SYSTEMS
The current sales operation of Fabrinet Co., Ltd. is based on manual operation.
There is not yet a computerized system implemented to support this operation. Most of
the data are stored on paper, while some data are kept in the Microsoft Excel or
Microsoft Access of a standalone computer. In order to perform the required business
functions, it is rather difficult for employees to perform their work manually. Transaction
time of a business process is not favorable and the probability of error occurrence is
high. Moreover, preparation of report is very difficult since data are scattered within the
manual system.
The new proposed computerized system will be developed to replace the existing
manual operation. Application software will be developed to facilitate and support the
sales operation of Fabrinet Co., Ltd., while a database will be constructed in order to
keep all data at one place. This should then help improve the transaction time, reduce
error, and therefore improve the firm's productivity. (Lamwilai, 2006)

A Point-of-Sale System for Measuring Sales Performance
A new sales system, utilizing wireless technologies and mobile devices, which
aims to provide companies with centralized applications to reduce cost and increase
profits, is proposed. The system allows an administrator to control payment processes,
monitor daily transactions, item handing and picking as well as selling procedures
carried out by sales persons.
The system is anticipated to save efforts, time and resources and is expected to
be resilient to change and adaptation. A feasibility study conducted to arrive at a better
understanding of the system performance revealed its suitability as an efficient
business procedure with relevant modifications and changes that need to be
addressed as appropriate. (Otair, 2008)
This study aims to implement the sales information system of agricultural store
sales based on Mobile and test the usability of the application. Sales data is going to
be stored on the local computer and the cloud. The sales information system focuses
on monitoring reports that can be accessed from anywhere as long as it is connected
to the internet and have POS cloud system. The report is in the form of a Stock report,
Transaction Report, and income statement. This study uses Prototype method.
Implementation results will help Semi Tani Shop owner in the sales management using
OSPOS, as well as monitoring the stocks, stock notes in specified quantities
transaction reports, and income statement using mobile android. This study also
concluded the usability engineering in response time that is at limit 1.0 second and
average around 0.3 seconds. (Utomo, Sayyidati, & Rahmanto, 2017)

Inventory Control System by Using Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
The inventory control system has a strategic role for the business in
managing inventory operations. Management of conventional inventory
creates problems in the stock of goods that often runs into vacancies and
excess goods at the retail level. This study aims to build inventory control
system that can maintain the stability of goods availability at the retail level.
The implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) method on inventory
control system provides transparency of sales data and inventory of goods at
retailer level to supplier. Inventory control is performed by calculating safety
stock and reorder point of goods based on sales data received by the system.
Rule-based reasoning is provided on the system to facilitate the monitoring of
inventory status information, thereby helping the process of inventory updates
appropriately. Utilization of SMS technology is also considered as a medium of
collecting sales data in Realtime due to the ease of use . (Alzena Dona Sabila,
2018)
There are several companies in Garut that are involved in the leather
tanning industry. The tannery industry now produces finished leather that is
produced from the skin of sheep, goats, and cattle. The companies involved
have big interests in the country and improve the economy in Indonesia. Public
awareness is increasing towards the environment and the existence of
international standardization in the form of environmentally friendly certification
for an industry has an influence on companies in the leather industry that do
not yet have certification. One of them is companies that pay more attention to
the environmental aspects of activities that are carried out, to meet
international standards and can obtain certificates to improve the quality of the
company and be able to compete with foreign industries. Activities related to
the leather industry are related to chemicals and produce hazardous waste to
the environment. Currently to monitor the company's supply chain
management such as recording customer data, the process of receiving orders
from customers, the process of checking inventory, is still done manually and
not all processes use the system. This can cause problems such as data that
is not real time, and the business processes of each part of the company are
PA
not integrated and not monitored properly. These problems can be minimized
by using a system that can monitor and integrate business processes with
environmentally friendly standards. This study discusses system development
in the sales department and is carried out by applying the green sales
management concept based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The
main objective of this concept is an information system in monitoring the
activities of selling goods to customers that are approved on environmentally
friendly aspects. The implementation of the green sales management system
starts from project preparation, business blueprint, realization, and final
preparation without being aired. (B.B. Ahya, A.Y. Ridwan, 2020)
This paper review focuses on the automotive after sales key performance
indicators and their pertinent developed models in conjunction with considering the
quality management systems which are implemented in automotive manufacturers.
The purpose of this paper is to address the link between quality management system
and after sales services in automotive industry. It is articulated in a manner to review
the reported literature in automotive key performance indicators definition and
importance. This is followed by a discussion on the contemporary quality management
systems in automotive industry and its impact on customer satisfaction. Next, the
author brings to focus the reported literature on warranty service and the relevant
developed model. Finally, the paper concludes with the updated developments in the
after sales business and the latest technologies utilized in this domain. The literature
findings form the input to guide the author in his future research to bridge the gap
between certain types of automotive quality managements systems and after sales key
performance indicators. (Omar Sabbagha, 2016)
Stickers were placed on eligible foods to highlight healthy options as well as assist
with tracking the sales of those products. Store staff removed the sticker and placed it
on a tracking sheet that recorded the date, number of healthy foods purchased,
whether the purchased item(s) contained a fruit or vegetable, and the type of payment.
Storeowners were interested in participating and remained engaged throughout the
program; however, there were challenges with fidelity to the intervention and its
evaluation using the sticker method to track sales. Additional research on methods for
evaluating healthy retail interventions that are simple, low cost, and feasible for
retailers that do not have electronic sales data is needed. (Claire Jon Sadeghzadeh,
2018)
They store the confectionery items and distribute within their area with the
support of sales representative who is appointed by the UCWPL. Generally, the client
purchase items for a week. They order variety of products at once. They manage all
store records in manually. It was chaotic matter to the management when they
reordering items and stock controlling. Author recognized that they need systematic
program to manage the purchase, stock and sales. By using this system user can
manage category, packing, item, expenses and customer details easily. As well as
Purchase orders, purchase invoices and sales invoices can manage using this system.
Also, this system facilitates the user to generate different kind of reports. Such as
expenses for given period, available stock, sales for given period etc. Only authorized
PA
users can access the system. According to the present software engineering theories
and by studying the problem domain, the Rational Unified Process (RUP) was
identified as the most suitable development methodology. (Buddika, 2017)
The mojokopi coffee shop sales monitoring information system based on the
website can process transaction data so as to produce information in monitoring sales
reports without having to open documents, as well as using the application of sales
forecasting to get sales prediction results. This website-based monitoring information
system conducts interviews and direct observations as a method of data collection. It is
designed using the PHP and MYSQL programming languages. With the existence of a
monitoring information system, existing problems from monitoring sales can be
resolved, therefore a website-based information system is designed. (Renita Oktaviani
