CHAPTER–15 : LINE OF WORK

Ans- Work done to earn money is called
OCCUPATION.
Every human being has three fundamental
requirements; food to eat, clothes to cover his body
and a house to give him shelter. To fulfil these
requirements, every person needs to earn money,
for which we need to work.

Ans-Farmers grow many types of crops in India such
as food grains- wheat, rice, millets, pulses, grams,
etc.
b) Different crops are grown in different areas
depending upon the climate, soil type and availability
of water in that area.
Example- Cotton grows best in the black soil in the
state of Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Ans- Some animals provide us with food milk, eggs
and meat. Such animals are referred to as
‘livestock’. Example-cow, goat, and hen.
The bringing up and caring for livestock is called as
rearing. Example-Cattle, Poultry, Fishing etc.
4.
Ans- Substances that are found deep in the earth or
under the seabed are called as minerals.
b) They are found inside the earth.
c) Minerals are of great use to humans like iron is
used to make machines; petroleum is used to run
automobiles etc.

Ans-
a) Carpenter- wood to furniture
b) Weaver- cotton to cloth
c) Milkman- milk to curd
d) Farmer –seeds to grains
e) Baker- wheat - bread
