LEVEL II AND LEVEL III STUDENTS

College of Nursing
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila

Dear IskoNars:

Greetings in the Spirit of the People’s University!

The PLM College of Nursing Student Council (CNSC) is the duly constituted governing student body
of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Nursing. The CNSC is given the honor and
privilege of upholding student rights, taking the initiative, and facing the challenges of organizing
events and programs centered on a nursing student’s holistic development.

During the period in which the nation's health condition became critical, there was a growing
recognition among the general public of the indispensable role played by medical professionals in
safeguarding the well-being of all individuals. This has persisted up to the present year, underscoring
the imperative of upholding the quality of healthcare. The College of Nursing will be holding an event
known as the Capping, and Candle-lighting Ceremony, which aligns with the college's core principles
of Kagalingan, Kalinga, and Kawanggawa. This event is poised to embark on a significant phase in
the lives of enthusiastic nursing students who are prepared to contribute to the betterment of the
nation, and this would mark the beginning of their hospital trainings, which will serve as a catalyst for
their professional journey.

By donning customary caps, symbolizing the tradition established by Florence Nightingale, who
fearlessly extended her compassionate care to soldiers and individuals in need, her courageous
battles as a nurse will also be illuminated by a symbolic light reminiscent of the iconic nursing lamp.

On October 8, 2023 (Sunday), the PLM CNSC sent an invitation to Level II and Level III students to
participate in an online bidding process for the selection of venue and portrait studios for the
upcoming 50th Capping and Candle-lighting Ceremony. The survey in the form of Google Forms was
distributed to the students following the conclusion of the bidding process last October 10, 2023
(Tuesday). With this, we hereby aim to announce the outcome of the aforementioned bidding process
for transparency. The purpose of this letter is to present the outcomes of the vote with the vast
majority garnered from the total of five hundred and two (502) students.
