Hello everyone, today I am going to introduce you the movie I chose called “Avant toi” in French.

Me before you is a romance drama film directed by Thea Sharrock. This is a British-American
collaboration released the 3 June 2016 but the 23 june in France, after several years of production
and multiple postponements of the release.

The film lasts 1h30 (one hour n half) and is indeed an adaptation of the novel of the same name
written by Jojo Moyes in 2012.

In this film, the main characters are Lou Clark, played by actress Emilia clarke and will, played by Sam
Claflin. Other important actors such as Janet Mcterr, Charles Dance and Brendon Coyle participated in
the production.

The film was shot in various historical locations across the United Kingdom, including Pembroke
Castle in Wales and Chenies House in Buckinghamshire, England.

The film depicts the life of a 26-year-old woman named Louisa or Lou. She worked in various cafes
and pubs near the city of London, with busy schedules and an average monthly salary. She goes from
one odd job to another until the day she is hired by the Traynors, a wealthy family, to take care of
Will, their son paralyzed after an accident. The young woman's fate will change when she becomes
Will's "care assistant." William was a wealthy and attractive man who had everything to succeed in
his personal and professional projects. His life suddenly changes after being hit by a motorcycle. He
ends up paralyzed and moves around in a wheelchair.

In this film, Will's disability is highlighted by the directors, portraying him as a man weakened and
destroyed by an accident. He nearly falls into severe depression, refusing to talk to anyone, including
his mother, and rejecting contact with the outside world. Will considers suicide several times.

Therefore, it can be concluded that he struggles to accept his condition and himself. Thanks to Lou's
help and their caring relationship, Will gradually regains confidence and embraces life, turning his
disability into strength rather than a difference.

Their relationship begins when Will asks Lou to accompany him to Alicia's wedding. They start to fall
in love. During a luxurious trip to Mauritius, Will tells Lou that he still considers assisted suicide,
asserting that he wants her to live a full life rather than a half-life with him. Heartbroken, Lou resigns
as Will's caregiver and refuses any further contact with him.

A few weeks after Will's death, sitting in her favorite café in Paris, Lou reads a letter he left her. He
tells her that he has left her enough money to follow her dreams and encourages her to live life to the
fullest.

The film poster highlights the romance that this film offers, as it depicts the two main characters
being quite close and attracted to each other.
