Lifting & Unloading Calculation

TTITLE
1.0 SITE PLANS / SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS
1.1 Lay Out Plan for Unloading Fuel Tank & Installation.
 Purpose of Drawing layout of trucking Mobile Crane and Equipment line road to site need to be approved by Owner and Consultant .
 Ensure the road to site or compacted and clear from debris, loading area for the movement of the Crane and the ground area is firmly level and stable, the ourtrigger must be fully extended with
approviate padding.
 Access Fuel Tank set to foundation is free from obstruction.
1.2 Lifting Plan Fuel Tank.
 Size Fuel Tank Diameter 3.300 mm x 10.785
 Weight of Tank 10.900 kg
 Crane Capasity 80 ton.
 Total weight ( Wt )= 10.9 + 80 = 90.9 Ton

 Maximum allowable ground pressure (PMAX) for Asphalt/dry sand/clay = 20 tonnes per m2
area = 0.65 ( Wt ) / PMAX
Area = 0.65 ( 90.9 ) / 20 m2
Area =2.95 ton/m2

 Dimensions of outrigger timbers: √2.95 m2 = 1.717 m Therefore, length x width of timbers required = 1.717 x 1.717 m ( Out rigger A,B,C & D )
 Working Radius Crane 8.3 m ,
length of Boom = 24.5
Crane Capacity = 24 ton , 24 ton > 10.9 ton, result Safety.
Angle 65°


2 Selection Lifting Gear.
 Sling Design Calculation base on Safe Working Load ( WLL )
 Length of sling 6 m
 Angle degree 36°
 Length = 6 m
 Height = 5.832 m
 Reduction Factor = H/L = 5.832 / 6 = 0.972
 Sling rating is reduced by = 0.972 , 10.9 ton x 0.972 = 10.5948 ton
 And tension factor 0.955
 Tension S1 = 1.035 x (10.9/2) = 5.64075 ton.
 Diameter Sling to be used included safety 20 mm ( ¾ inch )
3 Lifting & Installation of Fuel Tank.
 Inspect the Fuel Tank when arrival at site for damage / shortage that occurred during
transit. If any damage is noticed, notify that transport agency, Owner of Equipment
and insurance company. Get damage endorsed by authorized surveyor / agency
 Ensure the road to site or compacted and clear from debris, loading area for the
movement of the Crane. Ensure that the ground area is firmly level and stable, the
ourtrigger must be fully extended with appropriate padding.
 The lifting area shall be properly barricaded to check the load chart and other
necessary documents such as certificate.
 Trough communication with the truck driver and crane operator, the truck will be
suitable positioned ensure a safe control lift can be achieved. The load retention will
be removed to allow the load to be taken off
 Lift the Fuel Tank at about 1 - 2 inch from trailer to observe unbalance of total unit,
and lower back for any adjustments to carried out for positioning of crane.
 Move off the trailer by withdrawing the wedges once the generator is lift 6 inches
from the base.
 Carefully lift the first tank slowly and place it on foundation, once the tank
adequately place on top of upstand/foundation, install the bolts to secure the tank (
tighten to anchor bolt )
 Do the same method for other fuel tank, or we need adjustment of crane position for
other tank.
