ORAL COMMUNICATION IN CONTEXT


Asynchronous Learning Task 1

Asynchronous period is a self-paced learning opportunity that will allow you to independently study and
accomplish tasks. The activities given during asynchronous period will help you recall previous lessons
discussed and prepare for the upcoming topics to be covered.

For this week’s asynchronous period, please be guided by the following instructions:

1. Please download the powerpoint presentation from the same folder

2. In preparation for the next session, study the contents of the presentation. There is an
embedded audio recording for each slide to help you better understand the topics covered.

3. As you navigate through the presentation, please be guided by the following questions. You may
write your answers on your notebook to guide you in our discussion next week.

• What is communication?
• What are the 2 forms of communication? How are they different and/or the same?
• What are the different types of verbal and non-verbal communication?
• How can we improve verbal and non-verbal communication?

4. Prepare for a spot check (check up assessment) regarding the contents of the presentation.

5. A discussion board is uploaded to allow you to raise your questions about the presentation.
These questions will be addressed next session. The more questions you will raise, the better!
