To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world.
Now, I would like to welcome you on the fourth week of Oral Communication! Congratulations for making it on
the fourth one. How are you? How’s your family so far? This week’s module will deal with your inner, outer
and public skills of speaking and understanding the world.
I. Subject Matter
V. Learning Tasks
As we begin with our class for this week, be reminded to follow all the directions given each day. Please
maximize our class time to do all the tasks so that you will be productive in accomplishing such. Let’s get
started and kindly refer to the video in your flash drive for today’s activity.
Take a Break
Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment. So, take a
break and do your best tomorrow. In regards with the National Heroes Day, you can
take the rest of the day to relax and commemorate the greatness of our saviors.
Day 2 (Tuesday, August 31)
Who Am I?
As they say, “The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn’t being said.”
That is why for today, you will think about your likes, dislikes, favorite things, ambitions,
family, travels, preferences, attitudes, etc. Based on your reflection, prepare your answers
for a self-reflection check. Use the pattern below in your discernment. Write your answers
on your notebook.
1. Write one word that best describes you.
2. What phrase of five words best describes you?
3. Describe yourself in a ten-word sentence.
Share You
After yesterday’s reflection, you will share today the words that you have checked it out
inside. Participate as we go on with the discussion.
Google Meet
For our discussion, I will be asking feedbacks and observations from you based on our
activity. Then, I will discuss the Types of Speech Context, using a PowerPoint
presentation. Be ready to answer the questions that I will be posing.
Forward March
Now that you already have the knowledge on some of the basic types of speech context, let
us try to apply those learning’s in a pen-paper activity. You will write a letter for yourself 10
years from now. How do you see your future? Write what and how will you look like, your
visions and plans for the future. Write your letter on a short bond paper or document and
submit one copy this Monday.
Road to Success
After writing your own speech or letter, record yourself presenting your Forward March
activity as if you are giving a speech and introducing yourself to the public. Make sure to
save and post it on the comment section of my post on our Facebook page. The criteria for
this are available on your flash drive.
Note: Kindly wear formal attire and if you can, try to memorize the speech. You can also bring a copy but
make sure that you will not rely on it and red everything during your presentation.
Reminder:
Please submit the following on Monday, September 06, 2021:
