Grade 10 students! This week will be the beginning of your Short Story Quest. Be attentive and enthusiastic in submitting
and making your outputs.

 Explain how the elements specific to a selection build its theme.

 Create their short story.
 Appraise the unity of plot, setting and characterization in a material viewed to achieve the writer’s
purpose
 Evaluate and make judgments’ about a range of texts using a set of criteria e.g. comparing arguments on
the same topic, critiquing a short story

Day 1 (Monday, January 25, 2021)

 Tell Me About It - More

The more we share, the more we have. Last week, you were given the task to tell your favourite story in the
most creative way. Today, kindly use a Microsoft document and answer the following questions about the
same favourite story you mentioned last week.

1. Who is/are your favourite character/s in your favourite story? Why?

2. How did that person’s character changed until the end of the story?
3. Which is your favourite scenario/place in the story?
4. Who is someone whom you hate in the story? Why?
5. What is your greatest learning after reading it?

Day 2 (Tuesday, January 26, 2021)

 Introduction Activity
The whole is more than the sum of its parts. The same with short stories, its elements contribute to the
totality of the whole story and as to what it aims to deliver to the readers. Kindly participate and be attentive
with today’s discussion.

 Power point Discussion

 For our discussion, I will be asking feedbacks and observations from you based on our activity. Then, I will
discuss the first elements of a Short Story using a power point presentation. Be ready to answer the
questions that I will be posing.

Day 3 (Wednesday, January 27, 2021)

 Create Now or Never
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes
the existing model obsolete. Today, you will start creating your own short story inculcating the first elements
that we have discussed. Kindly open your LMS for the guidelines. Write this on a Microsoft document and
create one symbol that represents the story. Submit your works on your LMS.

Day 4 (Thursday, January 28, 2021)

 Introduction Activity
Perseverance is a great element of success. No matter how time consuming and nerve wracking it might be, if
we continue in giving our bests with our stories, we can finish such. Ponder on this value as we go on with
today’s lesson.
