1. Action Painting- abstract expressionism style


marked by the use of spontaneous techniques
such as splattering, smearing, dripping, and
splashing

20. Zeitgeist – translated as “spirit of the times” or of
the age. The taste, outlook, philosophy or spirit of
the period or generation.
Ex. During the Neoclassical period the spirit of the times
was considered to be rationalism; while during the
Romantic era it was sentiment.
