Webquest
The most important part of today’s task is that you write all of the
information in your own words. Copying and pasting information from
websites does not show your understanding. You must read the
websites, make sure that you understand the information, and then
rephrase what you read using your own words.
Your task will be graded using the rubric attached to this assignment.
New York State
______
State ______
State
New York state is on the east coast of the United States. Canada is north of New York state.
Specifically, Ontario (including Lake Ontario) and Quebec. Lake Erie, one of the other 5 Great
Lakes, is on the west side of the state. Many American states are west of New York, like
Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Even further east is the Atlantic Ocean. South of
New York state is Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is large state that covers the entire south side of
New York.
1. The most popular city to visit in the state is New York City. One thing people can do there is visit the
Empire State building. The Empire State Building is a very large building that overlooks the entire city.
New York City is also the most populated U.S. city, so the Empire State Building has a view unlike any
other in the country.
2. Another popular place to visit in New York State is The Cat Skills. The Cat Skills has a lot of mountains
that can be enjoyed in both the summer and winter. It is unique because although it it is close to big cities
(it’s less than 3 hours from New York City), it is almost entirely wilderness.

I would recommend New York State to adventurous people in their 30s or 40s. I think this
would be the best type of person for two reasons. First, New York State is mostly made up
of big cities and large areas of wilderness. Young adults are both interested in busy cities
and physically able to do things like hike and ski. People younger or older may become
overwhelmed by chaotic cities and too tired to enjoy the outdoors. Secondly, New York
State can be a very expensive place to visit. It might be too expensive for someone in their
20s, or someone older who is close to retirement. People in their 30s or 40s have a little bit
more money to spend, so they could fully enjoy New York State and all its attractions. For
these two reasons, I believe an adventurous person in their 30s or 40s would be the best
visitor for New York State.
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia borders the Bay of Fundy and Gulf of Maine to the
west and the Atlantic Ocean to the south and east, and is
separated from Prince Edward Island and the island of
Newfoundland by the Northumberland Cabot straits, respectively.

most beautiful nature phenomenon in the world. The aurora can be seen in Nunavut and
it’s really beautiful
2. The other thing you must see in Nunavut is dog sledding. Imagine dozens of huskies
dragging you to your destination.
