Parts of the Training Design Content
Brief Description This training will serve as the venue to equip the IAVIS teachers
teaching regular classes the skills and knowledge on how to handle
learners with special needs that are being mainstreamed in their
classrooms.

Rationale Inzo Arnaldo Village Integrated School is an institution that


caters all kinds of learners including the leaners with disabilities. In
pursuant to Deped Order 72 s. 2009 (Inclusive Education as Strategy
for Increasing Participation Rate of Children) and Education For All
(EFA) program, IAVIS facilitates the inclusion of some learners with
special needs in the regular classroom setting.
In Division of Roxas City, IAVIS - SHS program is of the school that
caters learners with disability and difficulties. In SY 2023 – 2024, there
are 22 learner’s special educational needs. The breakdown of number
learners with disability/difficulties are as follows:
Hearing Impaired: 14
Visual Impaired: 2
Learning Disability: 2
Difficulty in Seeing: 1
Difficulty in Communicating: 2
Difficulty in Mobility: 1

The Senior High School receiving teachers gladly supports the school’s
inclusive education program, however, they are not fully equipped
with the necessary skills and knowledge in handling learners with
special needs. The Re-echo Training of Senior High School Teachers on
Special Education (SPED) Content and Pedagogy will help to alleviate
this problem.

Terminal Objectives To conduct a LAC Sessions on the strategies in handling learner’s


with special needs in a regular classroom setting.
