II. Program Background and Rationale
Education plays an important role in shaping the lives of pupils. In the

process, teachers are one of the essential instruments in delivering quality
learning. Due to the emergence of COVID-19 in the Philippines, a lot of
changes happened in the educational landscape. The shift of the teaching-
learning delivery in schools to modular distance learning made more
challenging, on the part of the school personnel, the delivery of basic quality
education. That is why DepEd leaders are always finding avenues to solve the
problems and capacitating its teachers and school heads to become more
effective in the field of modular distance learning. To better support the
continuous professional development of teacher, in accordance to DepEd
Memorandum 004,s. 2022 the Department aims to complete the full cycle of
embedding the 37 PPST indicators into teacher’s performance. The
implementation of the Result -Based Performance Management System-
Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (RPMS-PPST) for School Year
2022-2023 provides for the guidelines on the performance management and
appraisal of teachers using the remaining 18 indicators in the RPMS.
To reinforce the above-mentioned target, this LAC Session about

WITH DISABILITIES, GIFTEDNEDNESS AND TALENTS is to be conducted. The
target participants to these will be composed of 1 School Principal, 17
Elementary teachers and 2 ALS Teachers.
It is essential that concerned personnel are upgraded and uplifted their
teaching competence in dealing with learners with disabilities, giftedness and
talents.

III. Program Description
This School LAC Session shall be done to upscale teachers’ teaching

strategies in dealing with learners with disabilities, giftedness and talents.
There will be series of discussion about different strategies in teaching learners
with disabilities, giftedness and talents. In this kind of endeavor the
participants will upscale their teaching strategies in teaching learners with
disabilities, giftedness and talents.
The training will be done in one and a half hour in face to face. The first
part will be an opening program from 3:05-3:15 in the afternoon. This will be
followed by the discussion on the different teaching strategies in dealing with
learners with disabilities, giftedness and talents.
IV. Target Learners’ Description
The target learners for this training workshop is the whole teaching body
of Sta. Teresita Central School. They are composed of 2 Master Teachers and
15 Teachers I-III and 2 ALS teachers.

Terminal Objective:
To discuss the different teaching strategies in dealing with learners with

classroom.
2. To enumerate and discuss the different teaching strategies in dealing

with learners with disabilities, giftedness and talents.
3. To appreciate the importance of upscaling teachers on the teaching

strategies in dealing with learners with disabilities, giftedness and talents.

With the competencies gained from this LAC Session, participants will
be able to use and apply gained knowledge in dealing with learners with
