DepEd Order No. 35 s. 2016 entitled “The Learning Action Cell as a K to 12 Education
Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of
Teaching and Learning”, stated that continuing professional development of the teaching
personnel can be done through the school-based LAC. This will function as a professional
learning community for teachers that will help them improve and be successful individuals. LAC
sessions will help the teachers to be equipped with more knowledge, skills, and techniques that
they may use not only for themselves but primarily for the benefit of the learners DepEd Order
Number 35, S. According to a 2016 article titled "The Learning Action Cell as a K to 12 Education
Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of
Teaching and Learning," the teaching staff can continue their professional development in their
assigned schools. Teachers can use this as a professional learning community to advance their
careers and become more successful people. The instructors will profit from LAC sessions by
becoming more knowledgeable, skilled, and proficient in strategies that they can employ primarily
for the benefit of the students as opposed to only for their own advantage.

RA 11650 provides that all schools, whether public or private, shall ensure equitable
access to quality education for every learner with a disability. “The policy of inclusion is hereby
instituted in all early and basic education schools, both public and private,”.
For further assist the teachers and meet their needs and develop them professionally in
terms of inclusive classroom, September 30, October 7 , 14, 21and 28, 2022 was set for an In-
Service Training (INSET). This will tackle about developing the categories of disability, and
teaching strategies for LWDs.

Making a list of activities and strategies on how to handle certain
disability in the classroom
Making a sample of narrative report about certain LWD
Competencies:
Acquire new skills and ideas in teaching LWDs
Ability to handle LWDs
Ability to promote inclusive learning environment

With the competencies gained from this training, participants are expected to
keep in touch with what is happening and find solutions/ interventions to the
challenges they encounter as schooling went on till the end of the school year.
