“THREE-DAY CLUSTER-BASED TRAINING WORKSHOP ON ASSESSMENT AND

GRADING SYSTEM IN LIGHT OF THE BASIC EDUCATION LEARNING CONTINUITY
PLAN”

I. OVERVIEW

The Department of Education, in its commitment to uphold quality basic

education, along its vision to continuously improve its services to the Filipinos, designs
measures to address the needs and ensure learning even during this trying time of
pandemic.

Schools adopt a learning modality suited to their specific community taking into
considerations all the safety guidelines issued by higher offices. Hence, assessment of
learner’s performance also needs a vital focus on how well the essential competencies
are achieved.

This Training Workshop is envisioned to address the need of teachers on how to

properly assess learning outcomes for assigning ratings of pupils and for possible
interventions to address gaps.

II. OBJECTIVES

This Three-day Training Workshop aims to:

1. Acquaint teachers about the grading system for SY 2020-2021;

2. Acquaint teachers about the assessment process;

3. Acquaint teachers with the different assessment tools;

4. Provide teachers with tips on how to construct summative and formative

test assessing different learning areas;

5. Use e class record for SY 2020-2021;

 6. Generate actual quarter rating of pupils;

7. Gain cooperation among teachers in the construction of formative and

summative test; and

8. Make the teachers more competent in assigning rating of pupils.
