SCIENCE INNOVATIONS IN THE BLENDED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

PHASE 2

1. The Division of Batangas conducted the Science Innovations in the Blended Learning
Environment contest for teachers as part of National Science and Technology Week on
November 22-26, 2021. The output of this activity aimed to help students maximize
learning with the innovative and safe activities they can perform in their own homes. There
were 95 entries from elementary to senior high school level. Based on the result of the
contest, the average Mean Percentage Score (MPS) of the submitted innovations is
74.17. The general strengths are (1) Alignment to MELC (MPS = 84.81), (2) Grammar
and Spelling of the Technical Write Up (MPS = 79.05) and (3) the Quality of Submitted
Video (MPS = 77.87). However, the entries were deemed weak in terms of (1) Distinct
Feature of Innovation (MPS = 63.82), (2) Novelty/Artistic Quality (MPS = 66.81) and (3)
Risk Management (MPS = 69.76).

2. Relative to this, this office through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) shall
conduct “Science Innovations in the Blended Learning Environment Phase 2” aiming
to capacitate school heads and teachers in the improvement and implementation of the
proposed innovations. This is a three-day virtual workshop on February 15-17 2022
focused on 33 teachers that were included in the Top 3 Winners of each category in the
Science Innovations in the Blended Learning Environment Competition, including their
School Heads and Public Schools District Supervisor.

3. Attached is the list of participants and the matrix for the said activity.

4. The participants will have an orientation on February 8, 2022 at 9:00 AM via MS Teams.
