2020-2021 BE-LCP ASSESSMENT AND 2021-2022 BE-LCP PLANS

I. ASSESSMENT

a. Best practice in the actual delivery of instruction under the distance learning
modality
As part of the school’s vision and mission to produce competent learners, Buenlag
Central School adapted and strengthen the new normal education focusing on the use of
blended learning as the modality for teaching. The school also give importance to
communication to make sure that connection of teacher, parents and learner exists to
monitor the activities and progress of the learners, and provide feedback, so, we provide
virtual orientation to the parents, learning facilitators and pupils.

The school also strictly follows scheduled day for collection and distribution of Self-
Learning Modules. In cases where parents missed getting the modules for the week,
teachers conduct home visits and bring them the modules providing that the area they are
visiting is low-risk, making way to meet and talk to parents for any concerns regarding their
child. If the child has strong internet connection, the teacher shall provide them digital copy
of the lesson, this way we will lessen person-to-person contact.

b. Strategies employed for assessment of learning.

Teachers need to be creative and flexible in assessing student learning, while still
adhering to the principles of quality assessment practice. With safety, health, and well-being
foremost in mind, assessment decisions must be made in the best interest of all learners,
ensuring that all assessment activities:
a. align with the most essential learning competencies;
b. are reliable, valid and transparent;
c. are fair, inclusive and equitable;
d. are practical and manageable for both learners and teachers;
e. give learners a range of ways to demonstrate their learning; and
f. provide timely and accurate information as basis for feedback.

When deciding on which assessment methods to use, it is important to

consider the following questions:
a. What is the purpose of the assessment?
b. What will be assessed?
c. Which method would best allow learners to demonstrate what they
have learned, considering their learning modality?
d. Which method would make it easy to gather evidence of learners’
progress over time?
e. Will the assessment be completed individually or in groups?
f. Will the assessment be taken at the same time or submitted within a
specific period?
g. How will class size affect the way the assessment will be

conducted?
h. How can technology help?

To evaluate student learning at particular points in each quarter, summative

assessments shall continue in the form of written works and performance tasks.

a. Written works shall be administered to assess essential knowledge and understandings

through quizzes and long/unit tests. Items should be distributed across the Cognitive
Process
Dimensions (DepEd, 2015, p. 4) using a combination of selected response and constructed-
response formats so that all are adequately covered.

b. Performance tasks refer to assessment tasks that “allow learners to show what they know
and are able to do in diverse ways. They may create or innovate products or do
performance-based tasks [including] skill demonstrations, group presentations, oral work,
multimedia presentations, and research projects. It is important to note that written outputs
may also be considered as performance tasks” (DepEd, 2015, pp. 7–8).

a. Each task must be accompanied with clear directions and appropriate scoring tools
(i.e. checklists, rubrics, rating scale, etc.) to help learners demonstrate their learning.
b. Teachers are advised to collaboratively design and implement performance tasks
that integrate two or more competencies within or across subject areas. Complex
tasks may be broken down into shorter tasks to be completed over longer periods of
time (see Annex D for sample integrative assessment tasks).

c. Learners must be given flexibility in the accomplishment of the performance tasks to

consider time and resources available to them. Nonetheless, all learners within a
class should be assessed on the same competencies using the same scoring
tool.
d. Teachers must exercise their professional judgment in carrying
out summative assessments, providing enough opportunities for
learners to practice and to redo their work whenever necessary,
so that they can reach their learning targets with the least
amount of pressure.
e. Partnership efforts with LGUs, community leaders, parents, and others

Communicating the assessment task. In communicating the assessment task, teachers must ensure
that the following details are explained:
a. Objectives of the assessment task
b. Roles of learners and parents/guardians
c. Procedure and expected timeline
d. Standards and rubrics The teacher must consult the learners and, when necessary,
parents/guardians, to allow room for adjustments/flexibilities needed, if any.

c. Partnership efforts with LGUs, community leaders, parents and others

The school conduct proper coordination and collaboration with the LGU as keeping us
updated on the risks, prevention strategies and safety standards while we are battling
against COVID-19. The school also communicate with the LGU, community leaders, and

d. Challenges encountered in the implementation of 2020-2021 BE-CLP

We planned of having a clear direction as we respond to the present reality of the
pandemic crisis with the priority on the health and safety of all the members of the educative
family while we continue to bring quality instruction to the young. A survey was done;
choices were made by the parents with regards to the preferred modality. However, there
are some under MDL-Print who still missed getting the modules regularly causing the delay
of the collection. Learning facilitators lack training or don't have even one on how to handle
learners. They even do the answering of the modules just to meet the time of submission,
not knowing that they are not helping their children in that case. Some learners under MDL-
Digital also experience the same. They lack a trained facilitator to guide them.

The school is looking forward for delivering the quality education despite of the
challenges brought by the new normal. Through modular mode of learning, it is believed that
everyone will have access and will receive needed / enough modules from their teacher
adviser. Through the help/support of NGOs, stakeholders and GPTA officers, the said
number of modules will be distributed proportionately. Worksheets and other needed LM
plus the modules will be distributed as necessary. Through social media like messengers
and fb, every teacher can follow up the pupils’ progress of learning independently

e. Review of policies on:

e.1. Assessment of Learning
Buenlag Central School is guided by the Interim Guidelines for the Assessment and
Grading in Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan. This is to ensure teaching
and learning continuity while looking after the health, safety, and wellbeing of the learners,
teachers, and personnel.
e.2. Alternative Work Arrangement
Buenlag Central School is also guided by the issuance of policies on Alternative Work
Arrangement. Teachers come on Monday for the distribution and retrieval of modules for
learners who are under the MDL-Print Modality. The work-from-home arrangement is being
implemented for the rest of the week. In the implementation of AWA, we are being guided by
strict observance of applicable public health measures, and continuity of services while
observing health standards.

2. PLANS

a. Enrolment Procedure
The enrolment guidelines are used by Buenlag Central School to aid parents,
guardians, school heads, and staff in enrolling learners. Parents must convey their plan to
enroll their children in kindergarten using digital or physical enrolment platforms for incoming
kindergarten students.
The previous advisers will contact parents of incoming Grade 1-6 learners for remote
enrolling. Parents can also contact their child's adviser for enrolment through the school's
contact information.

To support successful and productive learning, Buenlag Central School will use a variety of
instructional strategies.
Indirect instruction where learners need facilitator and supporter. It includes learner
involvement because it is learner-driven. And, as a result of the new normal
education, teachers will assist parents, who will be the facilitators at home, in how to
handle their children.
 Experiential Learning is when students are asked to reflect on their experiences and
how they can use what they've learned. Even if we don't have access to face-to-face
learning, we can still use games and role-playing to implement this technique. Virtual
monitoring is possible.
 Independent study, where learners study on their own under the guidance and
supervision of the learning facilitator.

b.6. Assessment of instructional strategy

1. Conduct of Diagnostic Test
2. Conduct of Formative Assessment
3. Conduct of Summative Assessment
4. Conduct of Quarter Assessment (1st th 4th)

Instructional strategies employed by the teachers will be assessed thru class

observation and monitoring of learners' outputs. The provision of MOVs which can support
the assessment is essential. The results of the assessment will serve as the basis for
planning an action for the professional development of teachers and improvement of
learners' performance.

The school started the provision of internet connection in every classroom which helps
teachers in conducting virtual classes, kumustahan with the learners, and meetings with the
teachers/parents. However, some desktops used by the teachers are already old which
sometimes makes the speed slow, so we seek help and support from the stakeholders who
could replace the units.

i. Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) to be initiated

1. Adopt-A-Classroom Program
A project to be initiated by the ICT Group to tap the stakeholders to donate new desktops to
replace the old ones being used by the teachers.
2. Project K2E (Project Kalingan para sa Kalusugan sa Eskwelahan) –
Provision of Health Essentials to Teachers and Staff as additional school's response to the
threat posed by COVID-19.
