Course Objectives
This course aims to develop academic reading and writing skills in undergraduate business
students by introducing them to a wide variety of essential English texts, a wide variety of
thematic and literary English texts. By familiarizing them with interdisciplinary texts,
contemporary, international topics, literary devices and grammar tools, and instructional
activities and the course aims to develop in students engaged reading skills for literal
comprehension, interpretation, critical thinking and assimilation. The students will be able to
reason, critique and analyze any given text using the four levels of understanding. The
students will also develop skills on writing, structure of the written text, maintaining
coherence and cohesion in academic writing. They will also students will be given
opportunities to be acquainted to and use the structures and expressions in their profession.

On completion of the course, the students will be able to;
