Define Huqooq ul Ibad

Huqooq is the plural of Haq, meaning rights.


Ibad is the plural of Abd meaning people
Huqooq ul Ibad means rights of human beings.
All the people living in society have rights on each other, which are necessary to fulfill.
The right one of man is the responsibility or duty (fard) of another.
For example, the rights of parents are the duties of their offspring.
Similarly every individual in society has both rights and responsibilities.
This creates a stable society.

Write a short note on the importance/ status of Huqooq ul Ibad.


Huqooq ul Ibad means the rights of human beings
If everyone in society is given their proper rights they can devote their talent and energy for the
uplift of society with a peace of mind.
This is how a homogenous social environment is created.
Allah Almighty has provided us guidance, clearly determining the rights of people.
By fulfilling these rights we can attain the pleasure of Allah.
If people are deprived of their rights, a feeling of unrest and discontent rises which damages
social orders and has a destructive tendency.
Hence it is essential to fulfill Huqooq ul Ibad so that every member of society can utilize their
capabilities in constructive work.

How many types of are there?


According to Islamic teachings there are two types of rights:
1. Huqooq ul Allah: The rights of Allah, meaning the duties of man towards Allah
2. Huqooq ul Ibad: meaning the rights of people towards people.

Mention two rights of parents


1. Excellent behaviour (Husn e salook)
Allah has stated in the Quran:
Surah Al Ahkaf: 15
“We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents”
‫ؕا‬
2. To pray for mercy on them (rehm ki dua)

3. ۲۴﴿ ‫﴾َو ُقل َّرِّب اۡر َح ۡم ُه َم ا َكَم ا َر َّبٰي ِنۡى َصِغۡي ًر‬
“And say: ‘My Lord! Bestow on them Your mercy as they did bring me up when I was
little”.

What is the commandment in the Quran about the rights of parents?


Allah Almighty has exhorted us to discharge the rights of parents in the Holy Quran in many
places.
Surah Bani Israel: 23,24.
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.
And that you be dutiful to your parents.
If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect,
nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.
And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: ‘My Lord!
Bestow on them Your mercy as they did bring me up when I was little.”

Write the Arabic form of the Hadith: “Heaven lies beneath the feet of your
mother”.
Write down two responsibilities of offspring.
1. To show good manners
2. To talk kindly to parents and behave with them
3. Obey their orders.

Write down four rights of children


1. To not be murdered by their parents and their lives to be protected
2. Right to be educated and taught well, including religious education
3. When they reach mature age, their parents should help them marry and settle
4. Maintain equality and justice between them and not deprive them of any right

Why did the Arabs kill their children?


The Arabs killed their children out of fear of poverty
The Quran states
Surah Bani Israel: 31
“And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We shall provide for them as well as for you.
Surely the killing of them is a great sin.”

Write down four rights of teachers


1. Obedience
It is necessary to obey teachers as they give students knowledge and educate them.
2. Respect
It is the right of teachers ti be respect by students and society
The Prophet (SAW) declared that a teacher has the rank of a father
Hence it is Wajib to respect them
3. Sharing their happiness and sorrows
A demand of respecting teachers and sincerity with them is to share their happiness and
sorrows and try to solve their difficulties
4. To pray for their well being
It is the right of a teacher, that a student should pray for their long life and good health
during his life, and after his death, for his forgiveness

According to hadith, how many fathers does a man have?


Hadith:
“You have three fathers. First is responsible for your birth, the second who engaged his daughter
with you and the third who imparted knowledge to you.”
