TWO USES OF HMI

1. **Process Control:**
- HMIs manage and monitor industrial processes, allowing operators to control machinery and track
real-time data.

2. **PLC Programming:**
- Integrated into PLC systems, HMIs simplify user-friendly programming and control for automation in
electrical engineering.

HMI- SAME
Supervisory System: Supervisory system in SCADA connects equipment to HMI software. Small
systems use one PC; larger ones have distributed software, recovery sites, and multiple servers for
reliability. Servers are configured to ensure continuous control and monitoring, boosting system
integrity.

RTU:SCADA systems use Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) to link physical objects with microprocessor-
controlled electronic devices. RTUs transmit data to the supervisory system and receive control
messages from the master system, earning them the name Remote Telemetry Units.

Plc: In SCADA, PLCs connect to sensors, gathering their output signals and converting them into digital
data. PLCs are chosen over RTUs for their flexibility, configurability, versatility, and cost-effectiveness.
