why you need to read the title carefully and apply the paraphrase
Paragraph 2. General overview of the article with parameters that need
to show comparison, highlights... Usually, there will be 2 main ideas
Paragraph 3. Specific analysis - Divided into 2 paragraphs. Detailed
analysis gives 2 detailed ideas

2. EXERCISE

TASK 1: You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

Introduction:
The two pie charts illustrate the results of the children's activity study
between boy and girls. The first chart expresses cultural and recreational
activities in which boys join, while the second chart expresses activities
in which girls join.

Step 3: Identify intent and WRITE OVERVIEW

Similar to other chart types, the Overview section will be written
according to two general characteristics of the trend and the magnitude.

• Trend characteristics: Do the data of the objects in the chart change

according to the uptrend, downtrend, or stay the same?
• Characteristics of magnitude: Which object's data is the highest? The
lowest?)

Overview:
It is clear that the percentage of both sexes is similar in listening to
music, but the percentage of girls who like reading is larger than the
percentage of boys. There are also many differences in the children's
favourite activities

Step 4: Select information and write 2 detailed BODY PARAGRAPHS.

For this sample, we choose to analyze by magnitude characteristics.

• Body: Chart 1
- Description of the first chart
- Compare data in order from high to low
- There are data quotes.

Compare the activities of the boys (the activities that account for the
largest percentage to those that account for the least percentage)
+ The proportion of boys playing computer games is the largest (34%)
+ Basketball ranked second (26%)
+ Skateboarding accounts for 17%, ranking 3rd
+ Activities such as skateboarding and listening to music are less
popular, accounting for 11% and 10% respectively.
+ At least read books (2%) last ranked

Body: chart 2
- Describe the second chart and compare the changes in activities by
gender.
- There are specific data cited

Compare the percentage of female activities (largest percentage to the

smallest percentage) and compare some activities of girls with boys
+ The activity with the highest proportion of women is dancing (27%)
+ Girls ranked 2nd in reading more books (21%) than boys (10%)
+ The rate of playing computer games in girls is less than half that of
boys (16%)
+ The percentage of netball girls players (15%) is more than boys
skateboarding (11%)
+ 11% is the rate of girls participating in gymnastics
+ Listening to music accounts for 10%, equal to the percentage of men
COMPLETE ESSAY.

The two pie charts illustrate the results of the children's activity study
between boys and girls. The first chart expresses cultural and
recreational activities in which boys join, while the second chart
expresses activities in which girls join. Overall the percentage of both
sexes is similar in listening to music, but the percentage of girls who like
reading is larger than the percentage of boys. There are also many
differences in the children's favourite activities. In the first chart, we can
see that boys prefer playing computer games (34% participation rate)
rather than participating in other activities. Playing basketball is the
second most popular pastime, practised by nearly a third of male
children. Basketball is followed by football, with a practice rate of 17%.
Skateboarding and listening to music were the less popular activities,
chosen by 11% and 10% of boys, respectively. Reading, the least
popular cultural activity among boys accounts for only 2%. Taking a
closer look at the second chart, we can see that the girls' favourite
activity is dancing, which makes up 27% of the total. In contrast to the
interests of boys, reading is chosen by more than 4/5 of girls. Although
the percentage of girls playing computer games is about two times less
than boys (16%), the activity is the third most popular on the charts for
girls. With little difference between the computer game and netball, the
latter is practised at a rate of 15%. Similar to skateboarding's popularity
among boys, 11% of girls participate in gymnastics. Listening to music
is the least popular form of entertainment, at 10%, the same as in the
first chart.
