Task2

More and more countries are making university education

completely free for their citizens. What are the advantages
and disadvantages of this development?
As more countries providing free education for their citizens,
the implications of this development are significant. Although
providing people with free education increases the accessibility
and equality, it can affect the quality of education.
Free university education eliminates financial barriers. Inspite
of socioeconomic backgrounds, individuals can have equal
access to higher education. This can lead to social mobility and
reduces disparities in educational system. For example, by
attending the university, student gains access to knowledge and
skills that can significantly enhance their future prospects. Or it
can ensure that talent and hard work rather than financial
means, determine one’s ability to pursue higher education and
achieve success in life.
However, when education is free, it might lead to overcrowded
classrooms and reduced resources. Without funding education
system can lose its value, as well as, diminishing the value of
degrees. For example, many students who previously couldn’t
afford tuition fees, now have the opportunity to study in
certain university. As a result, with limited resources university
struggles to accommodate them, so classrooms become
overcrowded, making it difficult for professors to provide
individual attention to each student. Also university may face
challenges to provide them with adequate resources which can
negatively affect the quality of education.
In conclusion, providing free education have both opportunities
and challenges. While it promotes elimination of financial
barriers, it also causes diminishing the quality of education. To
gain a success of such initiatives, government should take care,
using strategies that balance the benefits and drawbacks
effectively.
