1.

SIDE - Line segments in geometric figures that compose the exterior of the
object.
2. VERTEX - Also known as corner/corners. The point at which two sides of a two-
dimensional figure or two edges of a three-dimensional figure meet.
3. ANGLE - Two lines that meet to make a corner.
4. CONGRUENT - Identical in size and shape.
5. CORRESPOND - finding the congruence and similarity involves comparing
corresponding sides and corresponding angles of the polygons.

OBJECTIVES:

 Define congruent triangles

 Show unity in group activities
 Illustrate congruent triangle

Congruent Triangles. These are two triangles that are congruent if and only if their
corresponding parts (sides and angles) are congruent. This definition is abbreviated as
CPCTC, which means corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent.

Since our given correspondence ABC DEF is congruent, we can write it as

ABC ≅ DEF and we can read as “triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF.”This
expression ABC ≅ DEF indicates the following congruence or equation:

AB ≅ DE ¿A≅ ¿D

BC ≅ EF ¿B≅ ¿E

AC ≅ DF ¿C≅ ¿F
