Self-reflection 5.1. As a pre-service teacher, what is the importance of learning about the
following topics: (a) school culture, and (b) organizational leadership?
a) School Culture
-It is important that every school should influence learners also the parent in terms of
the values, beliefs, attitude, goals, etc. As a pre-service teacher, it is important to learn
about the school culture in a reason that the more teachers learn about their student’s
background, the better they are able to understand and explain their student’s
engagement in the classroom as well as helping the learners to academically succeed.
Creating a positive school culture can improve to have a good to have a
communication as well as to build a good relationship among students. Especially that
you just starting in your teaching the learners, this would help you to know how to
manage students in order to motivate and engage students when working each other.

b) Organizational Leadership
-Knowing organizational leadership is important as a pre-service teacher in order to
be committed to a decision and be able to persuade of its merits. Learning about
organizational leadership as a pre-service teacher is important enough to
sustained ;’school improvement and student achievement that it must be actively
incorporated into training programs for those who are already teaching especially
preparing for lessons. For example, in making lesson planning that in each objective
should be align to the learning assessment in order to have an effective instructional in
way that it will engage the students within the lesson/topic.

Identify based on your observation the predominant leadership styles of the following
groups at CCDC and the indicators that you considered in deciding their leadership style.

Elementary teachers Coaching Style I choose this leadership style within the
elementary schools is because I know the learners
needs the guidance/support of the teacher in their
learning process. Wherein the teacher needed this
kind if leadership style because this one of the best
ways to guide and motivate the elementary
students. In addition, this would help to create a
good relationship to the students and teaches them
the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in order for the
students to perform well.
High School Democratic This leadership style is needed for a high school
teachers Style teacher in a reason that the teacher uses this way
of leading the students to instill the values of
collaboration, communication, and teamwork of
their students. Everyone if given opportunity to
participate in every activity that was given to
them, students share their ideas/opinions about the
topic freely as well as discussion is encouraged.
College teachers This leadership style is one of the most effective
for college teachers in a reason that they have high
expectation for their students and expect them to
meet those expectations. But they also provide
feedback to their students so they can improve
their performance. Moreover, this would help to
produce students to be socially competent and
responsible in order for the learners to be prepared
if they are already working within the course that
they take.
Top Management Democratic The reason why I choose this leadership style in

president) President, vice president is that they ensure
everyone that all members of the school
community are involved in the decision-making
process. I observe that the President in CCDC
gives opportunity or encourages all the students in
terms of team involvement, engagement and
participation if there are programs and activities
because she knows this program/activity has
benefit to the students. If there are program or
activities that the students or the officers with in
the school campus that they to execute, they are
freely suggest it to the president if she approved it
as long us this would have benefit to the learners.
Middle management Authoritative The reason why I choose this leadership style for
(deans and program Style the dean and program coordinators in a reason that
coordinators) it allows the students among all the students
should follow the policies within the school
campus. I know that some of the students are not
following the rules and regulation such the
uniform, haircut, hair dyeing, etc. so this would
help to control individual within the school
campus,
Assess your own leadership style.
For me, I am a leader who wants the best for the team/groups. I respect their suggestions or
opinions and I want that we will work together as a team, just to be fair. To be a leader
should be responsible and focused on the goal. I try being a leader in one of our reporting
in one of the subjects and I observe that some of the teammates would not be participate in
searching some information about our report. So, I would like to share that be patience and
need to stay calm as well as be kind especially if some are not cooperating as a team.

Your own leadership style and why did -For me, my own leadership style is laissez-faire
you say so. style wherein I believe that my teammates know
what to do so I trust them in everything they
made, at least we able finished the activity. I let
them choose what they want to do in the group
and let them decide to make their own decision
and manage the activity that they choose.
Moreover, this laissez-faire style does not spend
their time in managing their teammates but they
often have more time in doing the activities or
projects.

What leadership style would you like to Probably, the leadership style that I would like
develop? Why? to develop within myself is the democratic style
wherein it allows to voice opinions and
promotes effort and collaboration as well as it
enhances creativity and innovation because
every member gets the chance to ideate and
suggest. In every activity or reporting activity I
didn’t get a chance to share my opinion or
suggest on how is the process in making the
activity or reporting because I have no courage
to share my ideas/opinion so this the reason why
I want to develop this leadership style.
Moreover, this leadership would help to improve
my critical thinking, build relationship to other
members, commitment, creativity, and skilled in
developing a plan.
