“The Roles of Science and Technology in National Development”

The creation of new knowledge, and subsequently the application of this

knowledge to improve people's lives and solve social problems, is central to the
contribution of science and technology to society. Science and technology pave the
way for the progress and development of countries around the world. It makes a
significant contribution to society by generating new information and then applying that
knowledge to improve human happiness and solve social problems. It is very
informative and delves into the involvement of science and technology in different
aspects and areas of society, especially in Nigeria. As mentioned in the research paper,
science and technology are closely linked with development as they have been shown
to lead to progress leading to healthier and wealthier societies. They are crucial factors
in solutions to the most critical poverty alleviation and economic development problems
that we are currently experiencing, as well as those that we will probably encounter in
the future. Science and technology are known to have a long history of contributing to
the development of nations by bringing forth innovations that have resulted in better
lives for people around the world. It have made significant progress in most basic and
critical areas of human needs, and they hold the best prospects for future progress,
especially in agriculture, energy, water, environmental concerns and most importantly,
health. Scientific progress and application have helped to slow the trend of high fertility
and mortality, and have resulted in improved health for many people around the world.
Science and technology is one of the best factors for the improvement of the
quality of life. It is a way for us, humans, to achieve a comfortable and easy way of
living. It is the key to the present and future development of the society and its people.
