SCENE 1

SOLARA:

Good Morning everyone! Our group


here will be presenting about learning
how to sew simple clothes and
marketing linens.

Clothing is one of the basic needs of a


human being. Clothing is important
because it protects us from extreme
climate. Sewing is an enjoyable and
productive activity that can become a
business such as having a dress or
tailoring shop.

Sewing can be broadly classified into


two categories. Such as machine
sewing and hand sewing.
SCENE 2
CLARENCE:
A sewing machine is an equipment
used whether to repair, to alter clothes or
recycling household things. It is a great
help in making sewing easy and fast as
long as one acquired the skill on basic
operations. So, this is an example of a
machine sewing but this one is a portable
electric sewing machine.

Here are the parts :


Spool Pin - Holds the spool of thread.

Presser Foot- Holds the fabric in place


while sewing takes place.

Thread Guide – Keeps the thread in the


correct position.

Upper Tension – Regulates the tightness


and looseness of the spool thread.

Stitch Regulator – Regulates the length of


stitches.
SCENE 2
CLARENCE:
Thread Take-Up Lever- Moves the
thread up and down.

Needle Clamp – Holds the needle.

Presser Bar – Lifter lowers and raises


the presser foot.

Feed Dog– Which consist of saw like


teeth under the presser foot.

Bobbin Winder – Winds the thread on


the bobbin.

Foot Controller – Is the place of the


feet to power the machine.

Throat Plate – Is the plate that covers


the feed dog.

SCENE 3
MEL:
Hand sewing may be used for
temporary purposes or
sometimes, it may be used for
some special purposes like
hemming, buttonhole making and
many more.

Here are some of the sewing tools


and equipment:

Sewing box- a place to store


everything you need to make
clothes.

Tape Measure- it is used to take


body measurements as well as
drafting pattern.

SCENE 3
MEL:
Tracing Wheel- transfer markings
from sewing patterns unto fabric.

Transparent Ruler- used to


measure and draw straight
seamlines and cutting lines.

Pairs of Scissors- a tool for making


multiple cuts to fabric or textile.

Ripper- a tool design to slide


between sewn stitches and gently
cut the thread without tearing the
fabric.

Note: Clarence will bring the items.


SCENE 4
CZHERON:
EMERY BAG- used to sharpen and
remove rust from needles.

NEEDLE THREADER helping to put


thread through the eye of a needle.

PIN CUSHION- is to store pins or


needles with their heads protruding to
take hold of them easily.

PINS- use to hold the fabric together at


the seam line before sewing.

THIMBLE- a device that protects your


fingertip to be stick by a needle.

TAILOR’S CHALK- use for temporary


guide marking on fabric to indicate
where it needs to go.

THREAD & NEEDLE – use for stitching

APRON – to protect from the mess


you make while your cooking.

HANDKERCHIEF- used in wiping


one’s hand or face or blowing one’s
nose.

POT HOLDER - to protect your


hands while moving hot pots, pans
and dishes around.
