The power of the word

The power of the word

The word, what we say, can influence those around us both positively and
negatively. Therefore, as Christians, we should write and speak more about what
God has told us in His turn. Through this, we can influence those around us in a
positive way, and for some, we can be a light in their way. But to write what God
wants us to pass on, first of all, we should pray and ask him for guidance, wisdom,
and the filling of the Holy Spirit, and to guide us all along our way as writers.
Secondly, our main source of inspiration should be the Bible, the book of books,
and we should arrange everything in such a way as to convey through our works
the beauty of our faith, and thereby influence those who will read to seek God.
The best way for a genuine Christian to use his words, and language
responsibly is to set an example worthy of following. Every time we write an
article, a book, or write something else, a Christian must write wisely and cleanly,
and be a constructive language for the glory of God, not to be discouraging
language. „We have this Greek word, logos, that means word, but it also means
order, logic, and reason. At the beginning of both the Bible and of the Gospel,
then, we have the primacy of language. It is the tool that God gave us for putting
creation in order and making sense of what we experience. And like Him, we can
also use it to create.” (Week 1 Video Introduction, ENGL 1133) People around us
often don't read the Bible, or Christian articles because they read us first. What
better way to be read is there if not that of a character? Ellen White argues that a
good character is more precious than passing possessions, and its formation is the
noblest work in which men can engage. (Mind, Character and Personality, vol. 2
Chap. 59) The true Christian will show kindness, patience, love, forgiveness, and

above all, faith. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may
see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16, NIV)
To be able to write from a Christian perspective, first of all, we must have
that faith. God has now no longer blessed one character with extra religion than
He has blessed a person else. Folks frequently see a person prospering in keeping
with the Word, whether or not in his health, his finances, his family, and so forth,
and that they get the flawed influence that God needs to have for the reason that
character extra religion. So the primary element to understand is this: Every
believer has been given a measure—the equal measure—of the God-sort of faith.
In Romans writes „ For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not
think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with
sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”
(Romans 12:3, NIV) So, faith comes from God, and He has blessed every Christian
with the same faith, individually. That already depends on us in what way we use
it, and if we trust God to the end. „God gets everyone started off the same way.
He doesn’t give one person more faith than He gives another. He gives to every
man the measure of faith. Then your faith grows according to what you do with
it.” (Kinai, M. (2016). How to increase your faith.) In a lot the equal way, you need
to feed your faith in God's Word. If you do not, you might not be capable of doing
a lot spiritually with regard to shifting mountains in your life. In Luke writes „ If
that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow
is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!”
(Luke 12:28, NIV) Through this verse, I wanted to say that God always takes care
of us, but if we lose our faith in him, everything will already be on us, although he
will still care about us, we will already be in another part. It is the same with

Christian writers, we write to point those around in a good direction, towards

God, but it is already their choice if they will listen to the word of God or choose
their own way. But regardless of the decision they make, the important thing is
that we tried.
A Christian should write with love, he should write out of love, regardless of
whether he is talking about what God has done in his life, or what He has not
done. Since a writer is read by many people, he should pay attention to every
word he writes. All the more so, we Christians should be very careful, because we
represent the Almighty, Lord everywhere. „ …it is wrong not to want to influence
people when you write. Paul said, “Let all that you do be done in love” (1
Corinthians 16:14), and he said, “Do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).”
(Piper, J. (2013, January 13). How important is a Christian writer’s influence?)
When we write, we should glorify God through it, we should show how great He is
and the wonderful things He has done for the world.
One of the specific stories from my life that can support what I have written
in these paragraphs is when I talked to one of my friends, Amelia. We were
talking about a completely different topic, but somehow, we got to the topic of
faith and God. And at that moment I felt that I had received the opportunity to
talk to him about God. And I spoke to her about Him, but she, being a non-
Christian, was not very interested in this subject. I understood this very quickly
and began not to impose my ideas and not to talk specifically about my faith in
Him, but I started to tell her, in a roundabout way, how I changed after I met Him.
And then she, seeing that I wasn't talking specifically about Him, directly, began to
listen to me with more interest.

In the end, „I am convinced that acquiring a Christian worldview is vital for

any young Christian to interpret this world and still see God in a robust faith.” (A
Christian perspective. The Writing Guy. ) And I want to say that we should write
not just for the sake of writing, but we should feel what we write. We should
influence those who read our books, articles, posts, and whatever we write. After
those who will read what I wrote, there should remain at least a spot of color,
with a ray of light, with a hope that God will work on him as well.
