1. The Kpop industry plays a huge role in normalizing issues that go against morality and
social norms.
2. Rate of street begging among school-age youth is rising in Vietnam.
3. The number of fake university degrees and certificates from unrecognised institutions is
rising in Vietnam.

Topic 1: The Kpop industry plays a huge role in normalizing issues that go against morality
and social norms.
● Where can you find credible information for all sections of this report? What kind of
research will you have to do (primary, secondary, both)?
I'll need to conduct secondary research using academic databases and credible news sources to
analyze peer-reviewed studies, statistics, and expert commentary on the influence of Kpop and
how certain content normalizes anti-social behaviors. Primary research like surveys of Kpop fans
may also provide valuable data.
● The purpose of a problem-solving report is to offer actionable solutions that the report
audience can implement. Who has the power or authority to solve this problem?
Kpop entertainment companies and artists have significant influence over the content and
messaging promoted. Regulatory bodies could also implement policies addressing problematic
aspects to guide positive change. Moreover, I think the audience can also contribute to solving
this problem, for example by calling for a boycott of wrong behavior or fighting for correct
awareness. Next, the celebrities have to be responsible for the content, images and value they
bring to fans.
● Where can you find credible information for all sections of this report? What kind of
research will you have to do (primary, secondary, both)?
I'll conduct secondary research using Vietnamese government data sources, UNICEF reports, and
academic studies evaluating poverty trends, education access, and street child issues. Primary
surveys of affected communities may also provide useful insights.
● The purpose of a problem-solving report is to offer actionable solutions that the report
audience can implement. Who has the power or authority to solve this problem?
Vietnamese local and national government agencies overseeing education, social welfare, and
poverty alleviation would be key to implementing solutions. Furthermore, each individual is also
the one who can change this situation.
● Where can you find credible information for all sections of this report? What kind of
research will you have to do (primary, secondary, both)?
I will conduct secondary research using reports from government reports and other credible
resources, evaluating trends in Vietnam. Primary research like interviews with employers,
universities, and credential evaluation services in Vietnam may provide useful insights.
● The purpose of a problem-solving report is to offer actionable solutions that the report
audience can implement. Who has the power or authority to solve this problem?
The Vietnamese government agencies overseeing education, employment, and law enforcement
need to strengthen regulations and oversight of universities and credentials. In addition, citizens
must fiercely eliminate the use and sale of fake degrees.
P-Purpose:
The purpose of this report is to analyze how certain aspects of the Kpop industry may negatively
influence social and cultural norms, especially among youth audiences, and identify
recommendations for balanced reform.
Audience:
The key audiences for this report may include Kpop entertainment companies/artists,
government regulators, researchers analyzing media influence, and concerned citizens/parent
groups.
Importance:
This issue warrants examination given Kpop's global popularity and potential to shape
cultural/social norms, especially for youth. Addressing problems is important to guide healthy
development and curb negative influences.
Background:
Kpop plays a dominant role in pop culture worldwide. However, some content may undermine
well-being by promoting unhealthy behaviors or they may promote controversial ideas against
social value. Critics argue for balanced reform that preserves creative expression.
Objectives:
- Understand scope/impacts of criticized aspects through research.
- Identify recommendations for balanced reform that curb problems while respecting
artistic freedom
Constraints:
Solutions must consider cultural norms, business interests, and artistic expression rights to
achieve balanced reform. Lack of consensus on where to draw lines complicates policy changes.
