However, the burning's number overtook landfills' and took the lead 3 years afterward.

The amount of waste treated at landfills underwent a gradual downward trend throughout the period. It
commenced at its highest point - 1800 million tonnes then plummeted to 1200 million tonnes in 2006. It
resumed dropping to approximately 900 million and reached the nadir at 600 million in 2008. By
contrast, the quantity of trash being burnt experienced a stable increase in these three years. Debuted
with the smallest number recorded in this chart (roughly 500 million), it rose by 100 million tonnes 365
days later. It continued going up to 700 million tonnes before leaping to its climax of 900 million tonnes
in the last year.

Finally, regarding dumping at sea group, its number remained at 600 million in the first three years. After
that, the amount decreased mildly. It is clear that it witnessed a mild declining trend from 2005 to 2008.
However, this method is not neglected as dramatically as collecting them at landfills.
