Remarkable Movements from the Past
Bombay Spinning and Weaving Company was the first cotton mill to be
established in Bombay, India, on 7 July 1854 . at Tardeo by Cowaszee
Nanabhoy Davar (1815-73) and his associates. The Company was designed
by Sir William Fairbaim. This mill began production on 7 February 1856
under the supervision of British engineers and skilled cotton operatives.
The new wonders were chosen in 2007 through an online contest put on by a
Swiss company, the New 7 Wonders Foundation, in which more than tens
of millions of people voted. All are Unesco World Heritage sites An official
declaration of the new Seven Wonders of the Modern World was made on 7
July 2007. It is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal
architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal was
declared a winner of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
On July 7th 1896, the Lumiere Brothers showcased six films at the Watson
Hotel in Mumbai and this marked the birth of Indian cinema as we know it
today. The Lumiere brothers were French Cinematographers who arrived in
India after having proved their cinematic excellence in Paris. The Times of
India referred to this event as the “miracle of the century”.
July 7th is celebrated as Global Forgiveness Day. These are great
opportunities to remind ourselves of the importance of forgiveness, to value
the forgiveness that others have offered us in the past, and to focus on
forgiving those we may need to forgive—including ourselves.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni born on 7 July 1981, is a
former Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian
national team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2017 and in Test
cricket from 2008 to 2014. Under his captaincy, India won the
inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups,
the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions
Trophy. He has received many accolades including Padma Bhushan
in 2018, Padma Shri in 2009 and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2007
-08.
Captain Vikram Batra, was an officer of the Indian Army,
awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest and most
prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil
War. He led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in
Indian history. He was often referred to as ‘'Sher Shah'’ ("Lion King")
in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army. He breathed his last
on 7 July 1999.
