V Raman
Sir C. V. Raman' was born on 7 November 1888 at
Thiruvanaikoil, Tiruchirappalli, Madras Province, India. His
full name was Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. He was the
son of R. Chandrasekhara Iyer and Parvati Ammal
(Saptarshi Parvati). His father was a lecturer in
mathematics and physics at Presidency College in Madras. 
C. V. Raman passed his B.A. examination in 1904 in first
place and won the gold medal in physics, and in 1907 he
gained his M.A. degree with the highest distinctions.
Sir C. V. Raman was an Indian physicist whose work was
influential in the growth of science in India. He was the
first Indian scientist to be honoured with the prestigious
Nobel Award in Physics in the year 1930. 
His discovery 'Raman effect' or 'Raman scattering' is
popularly known as an inelastic scattering of a photon. He
was honoured with a large number of honorary doctorates
and memberships of scientific societies. He died on 21
November 1970 at the age of 82 at Bangalore. 
National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28
each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by
Indian Physicist Sir Chandrasekhar Venkata Raman on 28
February 1928. 
SACHIN TENDULKAR
Sachin Tendulkar is a former Indian International Cricketer his
full name is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He is known as the Little
Master because he is considered as the master of cricket.
Some people call him the God of Cricket.

He is also the former captain of Indian National Cricket Team.


He has scored the highest run of all time in the International
Cricket. He started playing Cricket at the age of 11.

He played for India when he was only sixteen years old. He


played as an opener. He used to go on the first or second
position to play. After this Indian teams started using its best
players to go to play first.

Sachin Tendulkar is the only player who has scored one hundred
Centuries. He hit many runs against the strong teams and
bowlers. He scored great runs against England and Australia.

He changes the face of Cricket. He showed the world a new way


to play Cricket. He also scored double century once. He was in
the world cup team of 2011 when India won the cup.

Sachin Tendulkar received the Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan


awards. He is also the youngest man who has received the
Bharat Ratna. This is the highest civilian award in India.

After playing in his whole life, He took retirement from Cricket


in 2013. Many of his admirers felt bad after he left Cricket. He
has written autobiography ‘Playing It My Way’.

Sachin Tendulkar is a great inspiration to the citizens of India.


He is considered as the greatest Cricket in the world. His hard
work and focus made him a great achiever.
Vishwanathan Anand
India’s chess wizard and the world’s No. 1 player. He won a number
of top tournaments in 2007. He also won the first Rajiv Gandhi Khel
Ratna Award instituted in 1990-91. He was also the first Indian to
win the junior world chess championship.
He is one of the most outstanding sports personalities of the world.
The departure of Gary Kasparov from active chess championship
offered Anand an opportunity to become World’s No.1. He has
crossed the ELO rating of 2800.

Lately he won the world chess championship in Mexico in September


07. He is the first Asian to be the undisputed champion and only the
second from outside Eastern Europe in the last 60 years (the other
was the American Bobby Fischer who held the title from 1972 to
1975).

Under the rules of the World Chess Federation, the organisers of


the Championship, he played a match in 2008 against the Russian
Vladimir Kramnik, the previous Champion. Technically, Anand’s
victory in Mexico City is his second world title. In 2000, he won the
Federation Championship Tournament held in Teheran and New Delhi.

At that time, the title was split and many people recognised Kramnik
as the legitimate champion. Anand was the only undefeated player in
Mexico. He is one of the four players in history to break the 2800
mark on the FIDE rating list. He played for the Corus chess
tournament in Jan. 2008 at WIJK AAN ZEE (Holland).

Anand Vishwanathan has been slipping in his overall performance and


stood bracketed-4-5 in the world Championship held in November
2009. He continues to be an icon and a role model for a large number
of Indians. He defeated world no I, twice in late 2009

Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani (born 19 April 1957) is an Indian
billionaire businessman, and the chairman, managing director,
and largest shareholder of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), a
Fortune Global 500 company and India's most valuable company
by market value. According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he
is the richest person in Asia with a net worth of US$ 73.8
billion and the 11th richest person in the world, as of 13th
May 2021. Ambani attended the Hill Grange High School at
Peddar Road, Mumbai, along with his brother and Anand Jain,
who later became his close associate. After his secondary
schooling, he studied at the St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He
then received a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from the
Institute of Chemical Technology. In 1981 he started to help
his father Dhirubhai Ambani run their family business,
Reliance Industries Limited. By this time, it had already
expanded so that it also dealt in refining and petrochemicals.
The business also included products and services in retail and
telecommunications industries. Reliance Retail Ltd., another
subsidiary, is also the largest retailer in India. Reliance's Jio
has earned a top-five spot in the country's telecommunication
services since its public launch on 5 September 2016.
