Hi, Pranav and team.

The CA energy code (Title 24, Part 6) is performance based and generally product agnostic, meaning that it includes
requirements for insulating performance but doesn’t require or document specific insulation products, leaving that to the
designer, builder or installer. The CF1R compliance document indicates the R-value or U-value required within / of the
various assemblies, but provides flexibility in leaving to the project plans, specifications and/or contractor to specify the
particular assembly and insulating product that meets these required R or U-values.

In other words, including an insulation product spec within the Title 24 compliance document is not necessary. As long as
the products and assemblies installed are documented to meet or exceed the required R or U-values shown in the Title
24 compliance documentation, then the project will comply.

R-Value Calculation
As per product TDS –
Insulation factor = 35 W/m²K ( Lambda Value ) = 0.0035 W/mK

Approx /tenatative calulation may be --

R-Value = Thickness of PU foam in meter / Lambda Value

For 1 inch of PU foam layer --- R value will be---

R- value = 0.0254 / 0.0035 = 7.25

If you want 15 R-Value then PU thickness should be around

2.06 inch ( approx. 52-53 mm thick pu foam layer )
