TOPIC: HOW WE COMMUNICATE

Introduction: In today’s life, communication and building relationships are

extremely important. Despite the hustle and bustle of society out there, how we can
balance relationships in life and especially nurture healthy relationships with
family members is even more crucial. That’s why we have this interview today.
Ngan: Hello everyone, this is one of my adorable friends. Today I’ve especially
invited
her to come here to share her opinions on this topic with us.
Ngan: Hello, long time no see. How have you been lately?
Friend: Hi Ngan, it’s been so lovely to see you again. You look amazing today.
Uhm. It’s a little bit challenging for me to get along with the hectic study schedule
in university, but I’m still doing well though. How ‘bout you? How’s everything?
Ngan: Thanks for asking. You look great too. I’ve been doing really well with the
university things, making a lot of new friends. It’s way more exciting here, you
agree?
Ngan: Uhm back to the main topic, could you please introduce yourself?
Friend
Ngan: Nice. [Name], are you close to your family?
Friend: Yes, certainly. I love my family a lot and we share a special bond that goes
beyond family ties, they are also my trusted friends. We mostly share everything
and barely keep any secrets to each other.
Ngan: Which family member are you closest with?
Friend: That’s definitely my mom. The bond between my mother and me is strong;
it has grown from my early years into adulthood. She’s been showering me with
love and care throughout my life. It seems to be that as we’re both female and
share a lot in common like shopping, skincare, cooking, gossiping, blah blah blah,
we understand each other on a level that transcends the typical mother-daughter
relationship.
Ngan: I wholeheartedly agree with you. My bond with my mother is equally
intimate, it’s like we’re soulmates or have such a divine connection from past lives
that we’re so close to each other now. Or perhaps it’s the innate nurturing and
thoughtfulness of mothers that makes it so effortlessly for us as children to
communicate our emotions with them.
Ngan: Uhm it’s definitely a fact there’s a close bond between you and your family
members, but have you ever encountered a generation gap while communicating
with them?
Friend: Uhm I think it’s obvious that we have generation gaps. However, despite
the significant cultural shifts from the era of my grandparents and parents to my
own, including changes in attire, music, and social customs, they’ve raised me with
great care and wisdom, so I’m really willing to give them a hand in getting
acquainted with those top trends by help them create and learn to use Tik Tok,
Facebook, Youtube accounts. Look how clever I am!
Ngan: Wow, I didn’t see that coming lol. As you’ve said, it’s for sure that
generation gaps will exist somewhere, at some corners in our families, but I
believe it’s our love and empathy that are gonna keep us close, help us fill the gap.
Ngan: By the way, could you share a few tips about the ways you guys strengthen
family bonds?
Friend: uhm how to strengthen our family bonds, it’s quite simple though. It’s a
fact that right now, I have to stay far away from my family for studying, but once
we spend time together, we’re always looking for ways to create new sweet
memories with each other, like finding new places to travel, cooking tasteful foods,
eating together and talking things out, celebrating little things and showing each
other that we care. Just make sure that you guys could spend time together and let
the other know that you always care for them, because these things are crucial.

Ngan: Yes, for sure Parent’s; time is getting shorter day by day so we must spend
as
much time with them as possible.
Ngan: Thank you for sharing, would you like to send a message to your family?
Friend: Sure, thanks for giving me the chance. Uhm guys, just wanted to let y’all
know that I’m thinking of you guys and miss you. I’m grateful everyday for having
such a wonderful and supportive family. Love y’all!
