Abstract:

The idea of a "smart city" is to use Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet communication
technologies (ICTs) to manage infrastructure in a city or regional area. In order to alert the public
in the event of an unlucky disaster at home, a home security system is crucial in a smart city. So
that security personnel can act fast. This study attempts to build an IoT home panic button as one
type of smart city security system that can alert security in the event of an emergency that needs
assistance. Arduino Nano 2560 microcontroller is used to create Panic Button, which is connected
to internet through GSM Module. When the panic button is pressed, text message with GPS
coordinates will be send to the emergency contacts. In this manner, a secure, adaptable, and
trustworthy system is created to address the issues previously discussed.
