Preparation for Individual Progress Report

Postponed to Wednesday March 13 in class.

Each student is going to be asked 4 questions. I would like at least 4

paragraphs. One paragraph for each question. You will get a question
about your group job(s) and one question for each group topic.

Group job(s). What were your job(s). Tell me at least three things you have
done or plan to do.
In the group, I hold multiple roles including "Charter," "Researcher,"
"Presentation coordinator," and "Landmark." As the "Charter," I have
compiled and added information about the tasks of group members to the
provided file, which I subsequently submitted to CAN 416 Charter. In my
capacity as a researcher, I have conducted thorough research on various
project topics, encompassing tasks such as data collection and analysis.
Moving forward, as the presentation coordinator, my plan involves
meticulously organizing presentation planning and crafting materials like
PowerPoint slides and graphics. Subsequently, I intend to identify effective
presentation techniques and facilitate practice sessions to ensure smooth
delivery. Lastly, I am currently immersed in researching Dundas Square as
part of the "Landmark" task.

Landmark exercise

Sankofa Square, previously known as Yonge-Dundas Square, was built in 1998 by architects
Brown and Storey, blending modern elements with cultural influences. Originally designed to
enhance downtown Toronto and serve as a gathering space, it has evolved into a hub for
shopping, entertainment, and events while maintaining its original purpose. Distinctive features
include its LED screens and billboards, a central stage for performances, and a unique geometric
layout. Challenges such as financial constraints, structural maintenance, and political debates
over its aesthetics and impact on the neighborhood have been addressed through collaboration
with businesses, regular maintenance checks, repairs, and inclusive dialogue to find
compromises.

Ontario Science Center

You have two articles to read and one question for each article.

Article #1 Seven ways the Ontario Science Center move does not add up.
The province needs to provide answer.
Question What are the seven ways that do not add up? Give a paragraph
for each of the seven ways.

Article #2 Toronto's looking at how to keep Ontario Science Center where it

is — and could run its own.
Question - Give three reasons why the city should run the Science Center
in the current location. Give a paragraph for each reason.
Moving the Ontario Science Center could cause big problems like money worries, disrupting
programs, and making it harder for people to visit. It might also mean losing the Center's history
and harming the environment. Staying put in Toronto could be better because it keeps the
Center connected to the community, finds new ways to pay for it, and saves its historical
importance. This plan focuses on involving the community, finding money smartly, and keeping
the Center's history safe.
