EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 01

Series of 2024

AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION COUNCIL (BNC) OF BARANGAY POBLACION IV,
TANJAY CITY

WHEREAS, Section 16 and 17 (iv) of Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local
Government Code of 1991, mandates Local Government Unit to ensure general welfare and
provision of basic service;

WHEREAS, the Local Government Code of 1991 provides for the meaningful participation of
non-government and people’s organization and the private sector in the local governance;

WHEREAS, the Code institutionalizes this participation trough the creation serve as
advisory and recommendatory bodies of every province, cities and municipalities;

WHEREAS, DILG Circular 89-47 provides for the organization of Barangay Nutrition
Committees (BNCs):

WHEREAS, there is a need to reorganize this council in compliance with the provisions
set forth in the Local Government Code of 1991;

NOW THEREFORE, I ALBERTO T. SAGA, Punong Barangay, by virtue of the power vested in me
by law, do hereby order and direct the following;

SECTION 1. COMPOSITION. The BNC is hereby organized to be constituted of the following:

SECTION 2. FUNCTIONS OF THE BNC. The following are the roles and responsibilities of
the BPFSDC:

1. Formulate a Barangay Nutrition Action Program;

2. Coordinate nutrition activities of the barangay;
3. Prepares a spot map of the barangay;
4. Conduct “Operation Timbang” under the supervision of the Rural Health Unit(RHU);
5. Organize specific groups to implement nutrition intervention activities, assess programs;
and
6. Hold regular quarterly meetings to monitor program performance.

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Order shall take effect immediately.
