Plot Summary:
This short musical film centers around Cardo, also known as "Care," a queer person
residing in the city of Catbalogan. She radiates positivity and warmth, brightening
the lives of those around her. However, her carefree lifestyle leads to a devastating
diagnosis of HIV, plunging her into a state of darkness and despair. However, with
the support of her bestfriend who frequents the City Health Office, Care embarks on
a journey to reclaim her happiness and health. Through laughter and tears, this tale
blends comedy with heartfelt moments, showcasing the transformative power of
love and community. It serves as a tribute to the unwavering dedication of the
employees of the City Health Office, highlighting the best of what CHO can offer.

Scene cuts to two (2) nurses running towards Joed’s room seeking help for the
upcoming SOCA.
Nurse 1: Direk! We need your help!
Nurse 2: SOCA na naman. Kinahanglan naliwat maghimo short film.
Joed: Oh, shocks! It’s that time of the year na naman! Kalaksi panahon. But don’t
worry, I gotchu! Our film is going to be called Care’s Healing Odyssey!
Joed takes a folder with the cover Care’s Healing Odyssey.
Nurse 1: Wow prepared!
Joed: Yes! But brace yourselves because this is going to be a musical!
Nurse 1 and 2: MUSICAL?!
Nurse 2: Makanta?! Waray man kita mga singers.
Joed: Pwes, pipiriton ko kamo manganta! But let me check the guidelines first.
Joed check’s guidelines.
Joed: What?! 8 minutes maximum!? An maglagpas may minus 3 points?! This
masterpiece can’t be contained in 8 minutes!

Joed: Anyway, give na natin ‘yang points sa kanila. What’s important is we give our
audience a show! An it’ll go something like this..

Care’s bestfriend visits him with food and is shocked to see her condition.

Care: I’m scared, bestie.
Care’s friend encourages him to visit the City Health Office.
Best Friend: Gaga! Ayaw kahadlok! An mga taga CHO mga Triple B.
Care: Triple B?

Camera zooms to bf’s face and she winks. Insert ting sound.
Care: Weeeeehhhh? Nasiring. An triple is Batasan, Batasan, Batasan.
Best Friend: Gaga! Diri ito! Kadi na!
Mother hears the conversation and gets angry
Mother: Ano?! Bangin may HIV ka?! Jusko Care, gin-tolerate nala ngani namon it
imo pag sinugad hito tapos yana bangin may HIV ka pa?! Makaarawod ka!
Bestfriend: Tita, ayaw gad pagsugad hito, paging sensitive gad man han gin
aagihan ni Care!

Doc: Good morning! Welcome to the City Health Office. Before we proceed, mag-

Care: I identify as G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S, Gorgeous!
Camera zoom in and put GORGEOUS.
Care: Balit doc, I prefer she/her.
Doc: Ok, salamat Care. At least now we know. Dinhi ha CHO we try to be gender
sensitive as much as possible.

Care show’s result to doctor and the CHO staff that her viral load is undetectable.
Narrator: Because of the City Health Office’s help, Care’s viral load has now become
undetectable. Meaning she can no longer transmit the virus and live a normal life so
long as she’s taking her maintenance.
For everyone out there who is watching this film, the doors of CHO are always open
and its health care providers are always ready to serve. And this having been said,
