Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or name the book they are writing about,
state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.

Language Objectives:
Teacher will :
1. Read the story: The very hungry caterpillar
2. Teach vocabulary words about the cycle of the butterfly – White board
3. Give instructions about the post read activities
Students will:
1. Listen the story
2. Write vocabulary words.
3. Complete activities post reading
4. Explain the sequence of the events
Activities:
1. They will copy the title of the book on the paper.
2. Will draw the part they liked behind the title.
3. After drawing, they will write the vocabulary words about the Butterfly Cycle.

d. Butterfly
4. Some Students will come to the front to tell the sequence of events to the class.
Day #2
Reading a Book: THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR by Eric Carl
( 60 minutes)
Standards:
1. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.2- Reading
-Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central
message or lesson.
2. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.1.3 – Writing
-Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events,
include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event
order, and provide some sense of closure.
Language Objectives:
Teacher will:
1. Retell the story: The very hungry Caterpillar
2. Review vocabulary words about the cycle of the butterfly
3. Teaching a new song about the topic
Students will:
1. Students will tell the story in their own words
2. Repeat the sequence of events and the cycle of the butterfly
3. Complete activities post reading
10 minutes: During the circle time teacher will ask some questions about the story:
a. Which book we read yesterday? Who is the author?
b. What was the story about?
c. Who are the characters?
10 minutes: Teacher will ask some questions for assessment about the story:
a. Which was the first fruit the caterpillar ate? Which was the last?
b. Which day the caterpillar eats more? Which day eats less?
c. How many stages the Butterfly have in the cycle?
5 minutes: Teacher will divide per groups and provide materials for the activities
35 minutes: Students will make the activities post reading and the closure with a song.
Activities:
1. Some groups (tables) will make a craft . They should make a Caterpillar with the materials
available in the class.
2. Some groups will make a craft of the Butterfly Cycle.
3. The groups will come to the front to the class to present their craft.
4. The closure will be the Song:
