72-251 Removal and installation of door lock on rear door

Preliminary work:
Door liner removed (72-101)
Exterior door handle on rear door removed (72-241)

Vapor seal on interior door panel detach and remove.

Crank window close.
Screw (2 pieces) for lock cover (1) screw out (WAF8).
Lock cover (1) remove.
Linkage for interior door actuation (2) and central locking
linkage (3) on door lock (4) remove or unhook.
Screws (arrows) on door lock (4) screw out. Nm: 8. When installing first tighten the
front screw.
Door lock (4) remove through installation opening in door inner
panel.
Reinstall in opposite order.

Removal, installation
1 Pull off vapor seal on interior door panel and
close crank window.

 2 Screw out screws (arrows) and remove lock
cover (1) through the installation opening.

Rear door lock cover

3 Remove or unhook linkage for interior door

actuation (2) and central locking linkage (3) on door
lock (4).

4 Screw out screws (arrows) on door lock (4). 8

Nm.

Note
When installing, first tighten the front screws.

 5 Screw out door lock (4) through the installation
opening in the door inner panel.

6 Reinstall in opposite order.

Rear door (4), lever for actuation and

central locking linkage (arrows).
